WIW 1/24: More leopard, tan, and purple

This actually started out as a gray-on-gray copy of something Rae posted the other day (photo 3). Then the weather clouded over and it seemed a little too... gray. Then I realized I had the same sweatshirt and pencil skirt in purple magenta, and since yesterday's leopard/tan/orchid outfit was such a hit, I decided to do another variation on the same theme.

Purple magenta pencil skirt: Halogen
Purple sweatshirt: American Apparel
Striped silk scarf: Missoni for Target
Tan blazer: Amber Sun
Cognac/tan oxfords: Miz Mooz
Leopard satchel: Brahmin
Nude fishnets: Oroblu

I just love wearing these lightweight sweatshirts to work! It makes me feel all rebel-rebel! What do you all think of this outfit?

This one belongs in the best of 2014 folder. The way you tied the scarf and how it works with the oxfords is crazy good. I also like the interplay with the jacket and bag.

I can't tell it's a sweatshirt, how fun. I like to layer my hoodies with a blazer for work, for the same reason, it feels rebellious and fun.

OK -- I want to steal those shoes. They are beyond fab! The whole outfit is AMAZING! Loving the very fun "Rebel-Rebel" vibe… and I now have a David Bowie earworm.

Wow, this is very clever with the shoes and the scarf.

Laughing like crazy that an all grey outfit turned magenta. Only in MaryK's world!! You can turn anything into vivid living colour.

This is just so rich-looking and the different shades play so well together! I actually have a Missoni/Target scarf (similar colors, but different pattern) and you've reminded me that it's been sitting unworn for way too long

Ramya, the scarf tie couldn't be simpler. I just fold it in half diagonally (so it makes a triangle), then tie the ends together and put it around my neck with the knot in back. Then I mess with it until I'm happy with the pattern placement.

Suz, I kind of laughed at the metamorphosis, too! But I have the very same skirt and sweatshirt in both gray and magenta, and one thing led to another, and... it just kind of happened!

MK...I would just love to be a fly on the wall when you arrive for work each day. I'm quite sure that some of your colleagues just show up to see what you are wearing. I would have loved to have worked with such an amazing fashionista!!!

This looks so sophisticated to me! In terms of color use. I have four of those sweatshirts thanks to you (wearing one at the moment) and was just thinking I couldn't wear them to work! I will try to see if I can do a blazer outfit with one!
