Return of the Snake Satchel, and Fondling Kate Spade

No work today, so DH and I had lunch out and then took a stroll at the outlet mall looking to stock up on his favorite shoes.

I am still nowhere near tired of my Brahmin, but I have been itching to change things up, so I pulled out my recently neglected snake satchel for the day. Paired with my favorite jeans and a breezy sleeveless top. It is fun to look at the outfit photos and see a much softer overall effect without the bold stripes of my bag. I guess I am still a bag lady at heart and still believe it can change the entire vibe of the day!

While DH was shoe hunting, I peeped into the Coach, Michael Kors, and Kate Spade factory stores. Nothing caught my eye at the two former, but this little citron Kate Spade lured me in enough to get me to note the details and take a photo. I didn't buy it since a citron bag has been a long term hunt for me, but what do you think? I also am curious about the Coach in #4, although that one is significantly more expensive.

I prefer the Coach myself but I can see you with either.

Personally, I prefer the Kate Spade. It's more ladylike, and satchels pull at my heart strings. But either is fab. Can't go wrong.

Rae - it's hard to see how the bags compare size wise. I think a citron bag would look wonderful in your arsenal. Your brahmin is gorgeous but there is nothing wrong with swapping things up. Just like your beautiful snake satchel which looks wonderful with your outfit today. PS those jeans look totally awesome on you!! I like both the KS and the coach but I can't see enough detail to really compare. Anything making your heart truly flutter? PS status report on that citron jacket?

A friend has a covetously turquoise Marc Jacobs. Saturated hues are so lovely in bags.

Thanks, everyone! I have been really liking wearing a simple outfit with a statement bag, especially on days off.

Gryffin, I had to exchange sizes on the citron jacket, so it's up in the air. It was just delivered to my PO Box today, but I've missed the cut-off to pick up. I did love it, though, and I am crossing my fingers that this one fits perfectly. Will post tomorrow!

Catnip, both bags are a fine size, as long as they look good with my proportions. I carry shockingly little, actually, but I think a tiny bag makes me look like a hulk.

Neel, thank you! The jeans are by a Euro brand called Cycle. They sell them on Yoox.

Anna, I think you are right. The structure also would be a nice counterpart to my draped items.

I am thinking I like the rigidity and simplicity of the KS a little better, as well as the shorter handle. And MAN is it ever hard to find the right shade - not neon, not mustard, not lime. It's funny, but the main thing making me hesitate is that I just found that citron jacket... it makes me suspicious to find two higher-ticket citron items I love that close together, especially after a long search.
