WIW 12/18: The sparkly tank goes to the office

I have a holiday luncheon today and am meeting some friends for dinner right after work, so given that the weather has cooled off from the 80s to the 60s, I decided to modify the sparkly-tank-over-plaid-flannel-shirt ensemble for the office. I substituted my red pencil skirt for jeans, tucked in the shirt, and added a blazer, and I think I still look reasonably serious, considering it's the week before Christmas!

Sparkly tank: JC Penney
Plaid shirt: Old Navy
Red pencil skirt: Halogen
Black booties: Via Spiga
Black blazer: Comptoir Des Cotonniers
Blue satchel: B Makowsky (you can't really see it in the photo, but the blue bag picks up the blue stripe in the plaid shirt)

I think will be wearing some sparkly tomorrow - for our division pot luck lunch. Maybe even a sparkly vest over a shirt, as I'm pleased with how my experiments turned out this morning.

This outfit hits the right note, office appropriate with seasonal sparkle. I find it so interesting how you accessorise, I would have thought that you would pick a black bag, but no you chose blue to refer to the blue in the shirt, genius!

Thanks, ladies! Deb, the booties are nicely comfy for a day of moderate activity including walking a few blocks. I do find, though, that if I wear them two days in a row they start to feel a little squeezy on my little mini-bunion.

I think this is brilliant. Something about the plaid shirt tames the sparkly tank--doh. And the bright red, while it can read very holiday, also reads more cheery and fun-intentional and less "evening" or sultry than dark neutrals. To me that is what makes it wearable to the office.Very appropriate-fab.
