WIW 11/22: Extrovert pattern mixing!

I had a leopard scarf that I loved for years, but somehow this fall when I looked for it, it had disappeared. I looked around for a replacement and settled on this beauty from Kate Spade. I think the fringe makes it look current and it's a nice size and shape. I love leopard with turquoise so I teamed it with a nice Banana Republic silk blend sweater/tee. And then, to my surprise, the BR gingham blazer jumped out of the closet and wanted to join the party! I totally get that it won't be everybody's cuppa tea, but it makes me happy on the day before Thanksgiving!

What do you all think?

I think turquoise looks terrific on you, and I love the jacket/trousers/shoe/bag ensemble but I’m not a fan of the leopard on top of it : it’s too close to the gingham pattern and colours to stand out, but not close enough to match, if that makes sense?

Studying it I can see there are some matches that give the outfit cohesion, like the shoe color in the leopard spots, but there's something about the turquoise that really grounds the whole look for me, and I have no idea how you came up with that.

Hah Mary, is it bad that I looked at the photo and for a moment thought "what pattern mixing?" and "this is neutrals!" I think I'm pattern mixing numb LOVE the look. Especially love the cognac footwear with this, as I've also been pairing a lot of cognac with my black+white these days! I think this outfit would be just as fun with a sparkly top in place of the turquoise.

That scarf is fantastic. I think of my leopard pieces as neutrals. I almost bought that gingham jacket. Every time I see a picture of you wearing it I kick myself.

I like the pattern mixing. I love leopard and animal print scarves, but know I am always hot and don’t do well with things around my neck, so please enjoy for me!
