WIW 11/16 and 17: Date Night and Angie's Timeless/Ageless Formula

1-3. Last night Mr. K and I went out for dinner and a movie and I transformed my work look into a date look by trading the cobalt pencil skirt for my houndstooth cropped pants and losing the cowl neck top under the leather peplum. I was super happy with this look, and he really liked it, too!

4-5. Today I had a hair appointment and decided to bust out Angie's fantastic Timeless and Ageless Casual look from last week's blog post. I have been wearing a variation of this for quite some time and was really happy with today's version.

Mary, the rocker chick! LOL! Looks fun.

I am a great fan of that particular timeless look and I really love that scarf. The only thing that is throwing me off a bit is the combination of red and burgundy. My tastes in colour coordination have widened a lot since I've been here, but not quite that far. To my eye, this is a clash.

JR, that's so funny. I don't bat an eye at the burgundy-and-red combination any more. In my world, red is a neutral! LOL And as it happens, the sun came out before I left the house so I didn't end up wearing the red coat anyway!

Both pairings are lovely and your date night look couldn't be better! I have a leather back-zippered tank without the peplum that I plan to wear with a black see-through polkadot long-sleeved top to cover the arms. Love your cobalt clutch!

MaryK, #1, I am SOOOOOOOO pumped about those VC trousers. Do you love them? I was eyeing them for a long time. Did not buy because I worried that the weight would not be substantial enough for our fall/winter. What are your thoughts on that? They look fantastic on you. Love them with the peplum top and I am sure it looked fab with the skirt, too.

We are "timeless classic" twins today. I love this with the burgundy jeans.

Suz, they are quite lightweight. I don't think they would begin to stand up to a Canadian winter!

It's so good to see you back in MaryK style! That date night outfit is smashing and so is your interpretation of Angie's ageless formula. The previous retro dress outfit and the work version of this last copycat were fine, but, to my eye, didn't quite have the energy and sass that I guess I've come to expect when I open one of your WIWs. For my money, those bloggers ought to use you for inspiration instead of vice versa. So glad you're back in MaryK style!

Karie, Seychelles is a brand. Nordstrom carries it and they also have a big selection at Amazon. These shooties were an "Angie pick" a year or two ago and unfortunately they don't seem to be available any more.

The burgandy skinnies are great. They do not look ambre to me, maybe it is just my screen. I have been looking for that exact color. Oh, And I like the burgandy and red.

Deb, the ombre on the burgundy pants is pretty subtle. They're darker at the top and lighter at the bottom!

Yes, Shiny! Mr. K did indeed like the date night outfit very much! He kept telling me how cute I looked!
