I recently posted about my new favourite line - MPG aka Mondetta Performance Gear- and wore 3 pieces of it today. It was a casual work day ... some office work, and some customer drop-in calls. The weather is reasonably mild here today (-1 C) and an actual coat wasn't really needed for running around. I bought this heavy knit cocoon coat two sizes larger than "usual" to allow for layering, and because I liked the oversize fit here best. The t-shirt is my new favourite thing to wear : a lovely drapey poly/spandex with a box pleated back yoke providing extra movement and volume. It looks perfectly acceptable as workwear, and has filled a hole in my wardrobe. I'm definitely ordering in another colour. I added the faux fur scarf for both warmth and to elevate the look at bit - and was really happy in this outfit today. Comfortable, polished, clean-lined and reasonably well-fitting. The berry coloured boots and tote were a surprise add-on (I was going to return them both, but found they added a pop of colour I quite liked here plus the boots are SO crazily comfortable and real looking ) and I'm happy I kept them. Diamante safety pin earrings, a darker lip, no eyemakeup other than mascara, and sunglasses masking my gym hair.

The last photo is of a bag I'm considering ordering . This burgundy trend is not really my favourite thing - but a cooler version like this berry is more to my liking. It all kind of ties in with the contrast seam taping inside the jacket .

Wait, those are gear pieces? Or is that just in the brand name? REALLY good look. Especially with the dramatic furry stole added. Great boots; the deep red adds some nice subtle color depth.

I really love this. I want to especially steal the pants. You look great. Current and that elusive dressy but casual.

And not that it’s all about me , but you just made me look at the Old Navy shoes, something I’ve never looked at before. They have some low heeled gold booties I’m going to order. I’d love to find something inexpensive for a change.

delurked - about once every 2 or 3 years, I freak out about not having anything I want to wear, run to Old Navy because lots of other people seem to find stuff there, buy about 20 things and spend $250, then get home , wonder what stupid stuff I've bought, then return most of it. These boots are ridiculously good, and they were $49. I HATE cheap shoes (and not because I am loaded with $$ , because I'm NOT) - but fully recognize that some of them are worth buying. These are comfortable, look good up close, and actually look like suede. I hid them in my closet for about 3 weeks planning to return them, but just as I was ready to put on my usual black boots, decided to give them another try. The gold boots you saw are equally great - I almost bought those too.

Aida - the company makes workout wear and casual-wear. The top is really a warm-up top, but the pants and coat are from their casual-wear collection . The pants are a woven with some spandex. I now have quite a little collection of their pieces in both categories. It's a Winnipeg company, too .

What a find! And even better that it's a Canadian company. Hope they stick around!

Love this--that coat is so great and the fur scarf definitely "elevates" the whole look. You look casuaIly elegant. I can't believe you got the boots and tote at Old Navy. It's been years since I shopped there--maybe it's time to go back.

I don'T know which I love best in this wonderful outfit: the uber cool booties or the faux fur scarf. Of course, I'm sure the general effect is made possible thanks to everything else!

Lisa - you turned me on to MPG a couple of years ago when I was looking for workout gear, and now it's one of my favorites. I didn't know they made casual clothes too!

You look like your best self here - easy, sophisticated, clean, but with a je ne sais quoi that is uniquely you. And those pants are divine!

Seriously love those pants. The whole ensemble is perfect. I'd wear it in a heartbeat. I've been waffling on a pair of burgundy boots that I really like....figured I'd only wear then with all black or all navy. But hey, why not! Apparently they look fantastic with all black.

Great outfit! I'm shocked the boots are from Old Navy. I buy tons of cheap shoes and my feet aren't fussy yet I've never been able to wear shoes from ON. They're always too stiff and uncomfortable. The berry colors and the fur are great finishing touches.

Ok, now I am actually jealous. I love everything. Something is different about your look. Stronger compositions of deep, rich colors, the textures, more glow than shine, it's very current but also very sensual.

Love the look. Pattern, colour, fluffy texture : they do make an outfit more interesting. Burgundy leather looks sophisticated with grey. On the whole, the outfit looks both polished and cool.
When I buy cheap shoes, I always go for suede, I don’t see much difference between expensive or inexpensive suede.
I have doubts about oversizing the coat, but that’s probably because I bought an oversized trench recently and still question my own purchase.

Very nice! I'm taken with the detail in pic 5, assume that's from the coat? I have the same conflicted relationship with inexpensive footwear.

What's the sizing on their pants like? Looking at their chart the measurements for a MPG 2 is the same as a CM 0. Would that be accurate?

Hoping they restock the pinstriped pant....would love to try them.
