WIW - yellow shoes

So, this is yesterday’s outfit and first outing for the yellow shoes.
They are comfortable out of the box, probably due to unstructured construction, so very soft. It matters a lot, I have very fussy feet. So, no issues on this front.
Now, the color... I don’t wear bright clothes but for years I enjoyed having a pair of red shoes in my wardrobe. So, this year I decided to introduce more color through my shoes. It is one of my actual fashion goals of 2021 - add colorful shoes.
I don’t like the concept of adding a “pop of color” when it comes to my clothes. I don’t want anything “popping “ in my outfits So, why I didn’t think that a bright shoes, although technically an accessory, will provide exactly a pop of color to the whole outfit? Unsure... I don’t dislike these shoes and intend to wear them but I don’t think I will buy more bright shoes. Fashion goal of 2021 - failed.

Irina, you crack me up “I don’t like anything popping in my outfit” - ha, ha, ha….
I really like the shoes. Great shape and color. It goes perfectly with the blues in your outfit. I understand that you might prefer neutral colors all the way, but personally I love the “pop of color” here. The yellow is quite soft, so not popping all that much
The jeans are perfection btw! And fun bag!

Noooo I’d look at it as a “1 & done” & a fashion goal success! They’re really pretty shoes, go great w/ your outfit of blues, & I agree w/ Katrina, the yellow is soft & muted so they don’t “scream.”
I know what you mean about not popping; I’ve been trying to de-pop my wardrobe for years...

I like the shoes - and that you've chosen this color, which works so well with blues.

And the bag too! Cats please!

They are the perfect counterpart to jeans and your blue top. I like the contrast, but perhaps you’d feel better about them with something to tie into on top. Maybe bright gold hardware, on a bag or as buttons on a top or topper. Maybe a scarf with a gentle pattern that has some of that same yellow in it, or a pattern that ties top & shoes together. If it’s too hot to wear it around your neck (or if you find that too fussy), use the scarf as a belt. If you twist it, the pattern is less apparent & seems less bold.

Not what I expected with “yellow shoes” as the billing. I love the shape. I need to ponder the color.

Also m.gemi sacua suede loafers are cult and they come out with new colors periodically. I can vouch for the buttery cradling.

I could use a short sleeved navy sweater as loose and easy as this . Lots of love for this outfit - shoes and bag too ( fellow cat lover here )

Well of course I personally love them! I own bright yellow shoes myself.
But our styles are quite different. I would want to have yellow elsewhere in the outfit but I think you wouldn’t?
I hope you will still want to wear them, as they look excellent here?

FI, I do have a scarf with yellow in it but it probably would be to maximal for me to wear it together. I might try it with a solid color top, though. I don’t have anything else yellow, I don’t like this color on me. Shoes are kind of the wild card of 2021.

Golden hardware on a bag or top?

FI, don’t have a bag with golden hardware, I’m in need of more bags. Navy one with golden hardware would work well.
But I wear a gold pendant in the photo. This is as bold as I go with jewelry these days

Oh, these shoes are so good with the blues you have on, and what a great shape they are. I really, really like this outfit and hope you enjoy your wild card. To me the shoes are happy, but not loud.

See a few yellow buttons on you cat bag. You can even see on some red and blue ones. The bag already works well with the shoes as it makes me think of primary colors.

I don’t see them adding the dreaded “pop of color;” rather, I see them perfectly setting off your navy sweater and jeans. They’re such a nice shade of soft yellow; I hope you find many other ways to wear these wonderful shoes!

bj1111, I can’t tell you how many times I put this sweater in olive and in pink in my basket on BR site. But I bought too much this month and had to walk away

The yellow is a soft yellow, so not too bright. Your bag is the piece that grabs my attention as I love anything to do with animals.

Those shoes are adorable and an excellent accent to your outfit. They don’t “pop” so much as accent. As Bijou says, it’s a soft yellow, not jarring to the eye at all!

If the idea of the bright color is bothering you, perhaps you could think of the shoes as “nearly nude.” That will allow for color as a neutral. I treat brown, rose, yellow or metallic shoes as “nude.”

I will do my best to make them useful in my wardrobe. The color is out of my comfort zone but I will push myself to come up with more outfits to wear them.

These shoes look fabulous. I had a pair of yellow shoes and struggled to style them to my liking. Yours are a more mellow yellow and a fabulous chic style. Love them with navy.
