WIW - My take on Angie's Khakis etc. Ensemble

I wore this on a hot day last Thursday to play Bingo at one of the local Indian gaming outfits. The major economic drivers in our county are tourism, health care (big senior population), prisons and casinos. We have not one but two casinos in our county of 50K population.

Last week my chef begged me to come play Bingo and since I will do anything to retain this employee, I went with my boyfriend. The casino was heavily air conditioned, hence the blazer. Of course we all felt really young there, lots of walkers. It was quite the Americana experience and I had fun dabbing at my bingo card, and it was fine not to win.

My take on this ensemble involves some identical pieces -- the gray tee and black blazer. And some tangential pieces -- the ankle strap sandals plus the the greenish-gray cropped skinnies. I am looking to replace my beloved glads which I still own but are so worn out, they are unwearable. If anyone has suggestions, I'm open. I loved the delicate straps of this sandal -- the Keeley from Matiko (picture #4)

This outfit has lots of structure and body con aspects and I feel happy in this kind of a look, even though it's easy for me to think thoughts such as, do I look big/vulgar in these tight pants etc.

Thanks MaryK -- those are last year's legs, I think more cellulite has crept into the thigh tissue since then.

I vote that our next YLF gathering be at a Bingo casino and we must all wear Holiday themed sweaters.

Adore this outfit on you! You look so cool. I still like body con but personally really only wear it in the fall and winter. I have a hard time doing body con with these shoulders. I always look like I'm going to tip over unless I have a heavy boot to balance it out. You, OTOH, look fab! The gladiators are awesome too. Glad that you had fun

You are the farthest thing from vulgar. This looks great! I especially love it with the blazer. A nice excuse to wear one, if you ask me! Your legs and your old sandals are wonderful. No wonder you want something similar. I have no leads, but will keep eyes open. Those are very flattering on you.

Oooh love this take! I can also see why you're hanging onto those strappy gladiators, I'd be doing the same. Been looking for something like that for a couple years now. I'll let you know if I spot anything (though you're much better at finding those cool things than I am).

In the sea of oversized and fluid fits, I've actually been feeling the swing back to more fitted myself, especially for bottoms. Updated my flared jeans from one slouchy and one baggy to a fitted-through-the-thigh pair; updated at least one pair of skinnies from baggy back to skinny. At the very least for tops I am looking at going back to my "correct" size in those larger fits, instead of sizing up one or two for a really oversized fit; for winter, my fitted turtlenecks are starting to sound very appealing again. I like the fits you've got in this outfit, I'd happily wear it myself. And probably be happier in it than I would be with baggier skinnies.

This is a modified bodycon in my book, Denise. The top is somewhat fluid, and you've topped it off with a bf blazer with some ease. I think balancing the look out with some skinnies is quite flattering on you!

You look fantastic! I would not think of this as bodycon although I do see what you mean. I have not even considered anything that might be called bodycon in years, although I still like skinny jeans sometimes. My version of skinny is not that tight though.

I like this outfit on you! Nice job with Angie's formula, too. I like the skinnies, and even though I'm not wearing them as much lately, I still wear them, too. I'm not wearing the same ones I wore last year, mind you; I had to size up, not to get a looser fit, but to get them on.

you know I find it easiest to go bodycon from the knee down and long fluid on top. it is my FFBO of silhouettes.

Have you seen the Clarks Olbia? thin straps galore and in orange and in tan and in black... might be a purple too or I am dreaming.

I think my eye is moving away from body con (mostly from all my YLF viewing) but there will always be a place for it. You look chic and certainly not vulgar and you have the cutest little legs. Your old sandals are great. Sometimes I just want to have someone recreate my old beloved shoes.
