WIW - coming full circle (or not?)

For me my style has definitely come home, with the most significant change being my return to a pixie cut. I was a Tomboy with a bit of yearning for more femininity and I feel like I finally managed to find the balance with that! I did a big detour - crazy patterns and colors, lots of accessories, long hair... But I finally came back to what I've always liked: mainly soft, muted colors on the darker side, lower contrast. Solids and a few patterns. Simple clean lines and few accessories. Comfortable, practical and easy to wear. But with a lot more "pretty" than in the past! And you're as likely to see me in a skirt or dress now, I was wearing jeans exclusively back then. I like what Ornella once said in one of her posts: it's not a circle, it's an upwards spiral!

Sorry I'm looking a bit exhausted, it was a long night (karaoke!). And yes, that's one bad haircut in picture #4. That was almost ten years ago! Time flies.

I think you're getting better with age, lucky you!
The muted colours is the key component of your style, I think, as is your pixie and woolens.
I like the dash of tech in your backpack. I think that's a nice counterpoint. You might consider developing that aspect further (maybe for summer?).
I don't think there is much of a circle for me. I can tell because the conversations on this topic don't resonate. I think I'm probably still experimenting.

I'm wondering about the full-circle thing, too. I've been putting away my winter clothes and pulling out the SS one, photographing as I go. I think perhaps that, even though I totally embrace JFE intellectually and aesthetically, I may be headed back to classic proportions. Hmmm; you've gotten me thinking...

You are looking beautiful and adorable, Astrid. It's fun to read about your style shift and to see the older short-hair photo (and very cute tomboy style)! I didn't realize you had come "home," as all I had seen was the gradual shift from long hair and more going on to the pixie and more streamlined style. Thanks for the detail photo--that ring is gorgeous, and I love the soft heathered tones of your luxurious looking sweater.

Thanks Smittie! Mmh, interesting thought with that "dash of tech", I'll have to think about that. I thought about maybe buying a new watch one of these days, might be fun to pick a tech inspired men's style watch to wear with a summer dress. But I still have to find the perfect warm weather replacement for a my woolens too!

Sharan, thank you! And yes, that was before YLF. I love the ring too, although it's a bit big for me. My Oma gave it to me a few years ago when we sorted through her jewelry.
