The weather has cooled here and I’m back to wearing jeans and pants.

I got my bronze jeans out. They are in their third year now and I love them more than ever. The first year I wore them they felt like quite a statement but I feel totally at ease in them now. However, they still get a reaction sometimes. I went into a shop wearing this outfit and a woman was staring at them so hard that she walked straight into me!

I don’t wear silver jewellery much these days but the silver hardware of my olive jacket is very bossy and demanded a friend. I liked how the cool silver tempered the warm metallic bronze. I think the textured linen top also had a tempering effect on the glossy bronze.

I’m a fan of warm tempered by cool. Shiny tempered by matte. How about you?

This outfit totally works. YLF! I sometimes like to mix a warm camel with a cool grey. I also have a cool light grey top that has a dusting of warm rose copper shine.

Gorgeous! I love mixing metals - fav earrings that have gold and silver together( silver is the best for me ), necklace that have silver chain, small gold pendant and another one in black.

Great look! I usually contrast my blues and greys with a bit of orange or gold or cognac, but especially love the subtle richness of mixed metals. Your silver-tempered bronze here has so much flair!

Wow, absolutely gorgeous! I think I would have stared also - although from a polite distance and not to the point I slam into you! Just love the molten look of this. I do like to mix warm and cool especially, and am trying to be more aware of texture mix too. You are definitely an inspiration!

Slim cat, thanks. I love mixed metals too. Gold is best for me but I like it with silver or brass. I like rose gold with silver too and would wear it more often if it suited me better.

Thanks Angie. I’m pleased you like it so much! The bronze jeans are very Siena friendly, in both a matchy matchy way and a robust enough to take some doggy leaning and pawing way. We had a big day out yesterday with her first trip to the local flea markets, first cafe lunch outdoors and first trip to a hardware store (that won’t be the last with my husband). She was snoring within 5 minutes of getting home

Thanks Star. Camel and grey is one of my favourite warm/cool combinations. I like grey but it really doesn’t suit me, especially the paler versions. Camel makes a big difference. I think it’s a really elegant combination.

I cant remember owning a single metallic clothing item, and I love this. The slouch factor is high with the bag and boots and loose moto over sweater, but it still looks properly fitted.
Sienna sounds like a gem. They let dogs into large hardware stores here because so many people have their ride along dogs and it’s too hot to stay in the truck in the summers. I love it.

I agree that camel and grey is an elegant combination. For me, it is the other way around. Camel does not really suit me but the grey helps. Although this could well be different now that my hair is copper-ish.

Just gorgeous! I love shiny and matte. That's one of my fall backs not that I think about it. Usually jeans with a silky button down. It doesn't have nearly the drama of your example, of course. Your pants are such a cool statement piece--so luxe! Love your style!

Thanks KG and Kkards. Love shiny and matte. I’ve got a new silk skirt for winter which I’m looking forward to wearing with wool and cotton jumpers.

Olive Green, they’ve only just started letting dogs into hardware stores here. I think it’s a commercial decision for them because they are now selling dog stuff. Given that pet stores generally let you take your dog in they had to allow it to compete. As our local hardware store is my husband’s second home, I predict many a happy walk to the hardware store for Siena.

I too like warm and cool combinations and mixing metals but I need to be more confident. I am all over the blues and browns.....but a few others are harder for me.

Love the outfit and the science behind worths a pray:-)-I sometimes use these tools consciously or unconsciously as a girl cannot allways match everything- and Inowadays I don't even aim for that much matchiness!

It's nice to see you in silver mixed metallics! Agree with @olive green RE: your fluidly tailored look - the fit at your shoulders, sleeves and waist all help to temper the slouchy wider feel of the 'volume on volume' jacket & jeans.

What a great outfit, and so cool that the jeans now feel regular to you. (But still fab.) The slouch of the bags and looser jeans is fantastic with the moto. And of course the mixed metals.

Re bossy hardware: I have a navy leather jacket with gold hardware that I toned down with a sharpie. It’s not really permanent, but easy to touch up.

Sal, I struggle to mix blue, which is the coolest of cool tones. It’s one reason I don’t wear blue much.

Lyn, I don’t aim for matchiness either. But I do prefer a blended look to a high contrast look.

RobinF and FC, silver hardware on bags, jackets and shoes often forces me to mix metals because I prefer gold. But I like the look too.
