Thanks for the kind words on the blog post. YES. I love yellow, and it’s not a secret. I haven’t always worn yellow - only in the last 15 years or so, and when I was a child. Tomato red on the other hand, has been signature for 48 years.

What is "your yellow"? It's cobalt to Janet, black to Gryffin and Greyscale, blue to Suz, ink blue to Katerina, teal to Diana, purple to Tanya and Inge, red to Runcarla,and olive to Lisa P.

It has to be red for me. I’m pretty sure... But I’m not entirely sure. I like colour and pattern variety. But I do like to make a statement with red.

Hmm. That’s an interesting question. My colour vocabulary may be lacking here... I think I’d call it a Stewed Tomato Red. Lol. Tomato but a little on the dark side.

I am not sure what my "yellow" is. My coats tend to be different colors, depending on the time of year. And even in non-coats, the colors I like to wear in winter are not the same as in the summer; in fall/winter I may wear burgundy and eggplant, but in spring/summer, I switch to coral, rose, or blush.
On further thought, I'd say probably olive. I have heavier and lighter coats in olive shades. It is a year-round neutral for me, though, not a "color."

Not quite sure what you mean by "your yellow", dear Angie. To be able to answer your question, it would be helpful to know what role yellow plays in YOUR wardrobe. How does its role differ from that of tomato red? How would you characterize the function of your yellow, or what yellow means to you? If yellow is not a "signature colour" to you (like tomato red), then how will you describe it? Your "happy colour"?

Your tomato red is equivalent to my navy.
Your yellow is equivalent to my white. A prominent but not dominant colour that I’ve added more recently to my wardrobe. It has a glowing track record and I know it is not going away but it’s not a colour I live and die by.

Angie, I think on reflection, your white is my blue.

Your yellow is my fire engine red, since I've only just rediscovered it and it adds joy to the closet in the same way as yellow.

Another contender would be fuchsia.

A truly happy colour is coral but I don't have a lot in this at the moment. A few years back I had two orange coatigans but they have both worn out.....

Interesting question..."My yellow", as in "my topper happy colour", is definitely offwhite. For some reason, I feel classy and very "myself" with an offwhite coat or jacket.

This is a difficult and thought provoking question! If it could be a pattern I’d say polka dots because I’m crazy about that dot, but a color? That’s harder. I think I’d have to say a nice, bright royal blue. I love anything in that color - especially if it’s the background color for some white polka dots!

I think mine is olive. I have several olive jackets/coats and I always have one or two pairs of olive pants in my closet. It might be shifting to maroon/burgundy though. I've recently added several items in that shade and it's becoming more of a staple.

The Cat, you make me laugh. Aren't you thorough. It is a little cryptic isn't it :). You're right. We're talking about signature colours - and you can interpret it just how you like. For toppers. In general. Currently. Happy colours. As you wish. (Yellow is only one of my signature colours - quite right. You and others touch on tomato red, and Suz touches on white. Ink blue is another).

Suz, nice reflection. I thought my white might be your white too. But blue is more accurate.

Blues (ink, navy), especially if you go by what's in my wardrobe. But I think it's especially teal (I mean the color of this top), though I don't have as much of it currently.

I love turquoise too, but it IS hard to find.

I’ve been finding blues lately, of varying shades. I like greens and purples too, but their siren song doesn’t sing as loudly to me as blue.

I am not sure. I wear a lot of Olive, Brown and Cognac. I love Burnt Orange but I don't wear lots of it.
Most of my toppers are Olive Green. But if a great Chocolate Brown one came my way I would be very happy.

I think that we like very similar colors - tomato red, orange, yellow, lime green, chartreuse, turquoise and coral. So your yellow could also be mine. But I only have 3 toppers in the yellow family

This is such fun to read about everyone’s “yellows”.
I am not sure what my happy color would be. I love purple and olive and my wardrobe has good basics and pieces that work in different outfits so it is functional but what gives it the finishing touch have been a few scarves, mostly one, really, that works with just about anything and looks different in every outfit (maybe it looks the same to everyone else but I am not asking them).
I am starting to think that my happy color is red. When I have a hard time choosing a top I invariably go for a red or darkish pink. Also I recently added some red BR Sloans that I tame with tonal reds like you showed on your Friday post but with a tan topper as I don’t have any red ones.
You inspired me to order the Halogen yellow moto, if it fits right I will be asking for advice on how to style it, I don’t really how to make yellow work.

Definitely red. True red, fire engine red, Christmas red. Not tomato red, which is too bright/orange/yellow for me. If I'm not wearing red in clothing, I'm often wearing it in shoes or lipstick. Or even in my hair with hairclips. The only time I avoid it is when I'm wearing a too-analogous color, such as burgundy or purple or deep pink. Pale blush is okay in the right proportions. Oh, and I am careful when combining with certain greens. Because I *have* gotten Christmas comments before, even with lime green.

Other than that, red always makes me happy. Hence these immensely statement-making shoes I am seriously wanting, in addition to the other red items that are in my Finds. (Not a complete collection!)

My yellow is orange. A bright, vibrant orange, not pumpkin, and definitely not coral.

Black for clothes for sure, as you say. But the colors I love seeing around me, that make me happy every time, are the pure orange of California poppies and light lime green. I carry a notebook around while I’m working and I alternate between those colors for its cover.
