Something really new for me was the idea of tucking in anything - and following in the same vein - it's the idea that whatever our shape is, let it shine. I've been the queen of boxy polo shirts, oversized blouses and fleece jackets over the past several years, and I must say - even though I'm still plump - letting my shape show in my clothes a little bit is a whole lot better than boxiness (not sure if that's an actual word). Instead of trying like mad to cover everything up - I've learned that working with my shape and letting it be seen is the way to go. This isn't to say that I'd wear overly revealing clothing or anything - just that I really can wear a pencil skirt with something tucked in, and I really can wear a nice dress.
Even with a few extra pounds left to go, I have a nice shape! Shocking....(well, it is to me). In hindsight, I'm willing to bet that I had a nice shape 50 pounds ago too - just that I was too busy covering up.
I've gotten a lot of inspiration from Kari, from Kristen (Low Fat Dressing), Angie, NK (When Life Hands You a Pear), Michelle (Eyeronic), MaryK, Texas Sarah (Daily Sophisticate), Ornella, Amyreh (LowCarbHighStyle), Janet and many others.
