My tall boots were supposed to be my extravagance this year. Budget apportioning has had to be be skilful and careful this year with a baby blowing through sizes and stages. But I did have this on my list---knowing they are the opposite of a primary season purchase and I can hardly wear them in my other home location. They had just been a HEWI for a while and I pencilled them in this year because I suspected with a changing shape I would do better to put the money on accessories and stop myself from shopping for clothes every other month. Which also resulted in closet streamlining and creativity as a side effect. So they earned their place, right?
And yet. And yet! On our wedding anniversary, we went shopping for specs for the SO. And there in the tiny shop, right in my face at eye level were the polarised tortoiseshell-ish cattish-eyed RayBans. And hubby totally enabled. I wasn't going to try them on. But he *made* me. And I wasn't going to *buy* them, just try them. But he said, 'Didn't you want them?' And I said I could wait, as I had been patient for a long while anyway. 'But today's a special day!' said he, and just like that, I caved.
They were pricier than the boots (which I got a deal on) and I was planning to wait for a good price on this HEWI too. But I got them and I love them and I hope to wear the heck out of them both.
You do that with those rocking shoes too, Gryffin, okay?
