Hi Everyone! I joined a while ago, but never really got a chance to use the site until now. I'm here because I know absolutely nothing about dressing myself xD I'm an Engineering student from California

Hi Angie! I just joined. I am looking forward to a complete overhaul of my wardrobe. I really do not know how to dress for an apple shaped person. I need help asap

Hi Angie and all! I'm Sarah and I'm 25, living in Little Rock. I just joined a few days ago, and already I am loving everything about this site! Thank you for launching such a great common arena to discuss, learn, share, relate and find inspiration! Finally, I can ramble on and on about all things fashion to someone other than my poor husband and ten month old son!

I just discovered your wonderful blog a couple of weeks ago. I'm totally addicted to it now!!

Great fashion advice and nice ladies writing nice replies!!

Hi, love the site! I'm Samantha, 27, just finished grad school. Looking forward to ideas on how to put together my work wardrobe!

Hi ,everyone i am simon new member for forum. Weclome to all.

hi guys. I am crystalj. I just joined this forum to get fresh ideas and fashion trends from new friends. I would love to share my passion about bags, leathers and cooking!

Hello YLF community,
Joined a few moments ago, after lurking for a few weeks. This looks like an interesting and supportive group. Very refreshing!
I'll try to avoid any shyness, and look forward to joining conversations soon. I am obsessed with style, and self expression through sartorial choices.
I definitely have my own personal style, but I'm not afraid to try new things or re-assess old ones that may no longer work.
This looks like the right place to help me, and perhaps vice versa.

Happy Sunday Afternoon,
Ruby

I found YLF about six weeks ago and now read it every day. Until recently, I thought that looking fabulous was something that some other fortunate people could do, but not me. Since starting to apply what I'm learning here, I've received more compliments on my appearance than I'd received in the entire previous year! I'm so glad for this fun, supportive online community and look forward to participating in the Forum.

Hi YLF. I have been lurking for awhile and joined this morning. Hope to learn from you fabulous ladies on style and fashion and contribute in the future.
I am a 50+ yo professional living in the sw US. Work dress code is business casual but people actually dress more casual than that. Jeans are not allowed except special occasions. I enjoy fashion (or clothes?) since a child and see it as a creative outlet. I am glad such a nice blogger and website exist and looking forward to being an active member.

Hello fab people,

I followed a link from a friend to Angie's site and was hooked. Angie's styling is so spot-on and I'm glad I found the forums eventually too! Such a supportive, helpful community.

I'm about to turn 35. I'm a molecular biologist working at a university. I live in San Francisco where we can stay forever young, so I'm fairly adventurous with my style (I finally gave in to temptation and got a slightly punk haircut). My fashion tends towards a mix of casual basics and avant garde - I dream of Margiela, Helmut Lang, Ann Demeulemeester, Theyskens Theory, but most days I'm in jeans and tshirts and boots. Always black.

I buy most of my clothes at upscale thrift stores so I have to learn to edit my decisions and never let myself buy something that's not quite right thinking it's such a rare find. That's why I've found Angie's site so useful: I need to work on building whole outfits and a closet that works for me, instead of magpie-like acquisitions. I want to learn to use layers and accessories to kick things up a notch without becoming too dressy. My workplace is so casual that I worry about sticking out in the wrong ways.

Hi Angie and everyone,

Another long-time lurker getting to active participation after the changes in privacy. I've been following for 3 or 4 years now, and have learned so much from Angie and everyone who gives their time and shares their own insights and questions.

I'm in the San Francisco bay area, just turned 56, a teacher and school administrator. I let my hair go grey a few years ago and love it so much -- it's authentic, and students always pick up on that. The change in personal coloring has sent me on a long process of wardrobe revision, moving my wardrobe palate to suit and simplifying my closet at the same time. Since my career requires "business casual" I both prefer and am able to have a large overlap between weekend and work wear. Most of my closet consists of pieces from Theory, Vince, Eileen Fisher, and DvF. I'd shop at COS all the time if I could. I'm drawn to the Helmut Lang-Yamamoto-Demulemeester-Rick Owens aesthetic -- alot like Greyscale described (hi there!) I'm working on capsules lately, and especially appreciate Mo's recent off-topic post on how much is enough. Just how many bottoms, tops, and toppers do I need to feel I have enough within my given parameters of fit, flattery, and function (meetings, travel, immersion trips, teaching, community relations... climate). I love layering, and scarves as accessories, and minimal tightly edited wardrobes. I LOVE a uniform, don't need a lot of variety in silhouette. I struggle with putting together outfits and I've realized recently that it's because I buy too many duplicates. I'm very grateful for the years of wisdom I've already received and look forward to many more!

A style-mate and city-mate! Welcome!

Hi Everyone - not sure if what I wrote posted? anyway, I will try again.

This site is the super cool, what a great idea. I wish I had found it earlier. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area (transplanted from the Seattle). I love to check out what everyone is wearing on my way to work in the city. The punk and grunge thing I am seeing glimpses of speaks to my former self a few decades ago. Currently, I am more comfortable in skinny jeans, chukka's, different/interesting t's, and cardi's at the moment - wow, doesn't that sound boring. Looking forward to pilfering some good fashion ideas!

I am new to this site. I found it after searching for some help with my changing body shape. I used to shop online at myshape.com but ever since they have been gone I have been on ky own. I am glad to see there are other women in their 40's on this site. You may or may not be able to understand what I meqn about changing body type. I am putting on weight especially in the belly area and needing advice and clothing styles to help keep me feeling stylish.

Hi everyone! I discovered the You Look Fab blog a few months ago and really enjoying reading the material here, very thought provoking and enjoyable at the same time. So I've just signed up as a member today, and I'm looking forward to more!

Another long time lurker here being pushed into action by the
changes to the privacy settings. The forum has been valuable to me for seeing the
real life implementation of the ideas Angie discusses in her blogs, for example fit/proportion in an outfit of a
new trendy item, capsule creation, or wardrobe organization. Excited to be
here!

Hi, I'm new here. Stumbled upon this blog and forum after much (fruitless) googling. I'm hoping to ask for advice? The community here seems nice! (: (Oh look it rhymes.)

I stumbled upon this site today after searching for some info about my Longchamp LePliage bag. When I went to sign up for an account (so I could access the posts), I was told my email address was already in use. Apparently I registered more than a year ago, but never activated my account.

Looking forward to perusing Angie's blog. Love the tips on winners from the Nordstrom Half-Yearly sale!

Hi everyone! Like a lot of you, I've been lurking around YLF for about a little while and I am totally hooked! Love the format but especially the photos and the style sets. I'm a very visual person as I am sure most of you are, So the photos really bring the concepts to life for me. I'm really having fun reworking my current wardrobe pieces making new and more interesting combos! The photo links for pinterest finally got me to sign up for an account and i've already pinned lots of fab ideas. Thanks for all the awesome information.

a beautiful place

Hi,
Another lurker here! I was first hooked on Angie's blog followed by the forum. Now with the new privacy settings, I'm signing on. I found the site after I retired and was trying to figure out my retirement "style." The application of Angie's blog theme to real wardrobes on the forum is a great source of inspiration and ideas. Any of Angie's picks have been right on for me. She practically does my shopping for me. Should have joined a long time ago.

Hi everyone! I guess tis the day for lurkers, because I am definitely one of those I've been preety much religiously reading Angie's blog for quite some time, and now I kind of got the courage to sign up as well. I can honestly say that this blog, with all the pictures and its applicability has helped me so much to look at my clothes with different eyes! Especially since in Moscow, where I'm from, style is still not so much about individuality and making the best out of what you've got. So thanks Angie and I'm looking forward to all the future posts
