We are finally getting a new puppy! Our beloved dog died five years ago, and we promised the kids that when I was done with school we would get another one. We bought a puppy from a litter of five, and we have four more weeks to go before we drive (across the province, argh) to pick her up.

Here's our problem: we cannot agree on a name! We had all agreed on Ozzy for a male, but all five pups are female. My husband and I are still OK with Ozzy (or Ozzie!) for a female, but the kids are not. We can think of a whole bunch of great boy-dog names, but there are so few girl-dog names! The few that I can think of that aren't too silly, too feminine, to "human", or too serious have been shot down by at least one member of the family. For example, my son suggested Bailey, which my daughter hates. I suggested Murphy, which my husband and daughter love, but my son hates. We thought Buffy would be fab, but as the kids have no attachment to the eponymous vampire slayer, they just think it's stupid (understandably, if you've never watched the show). And nobody seems to share my enthusiasm for Coraline (which is probably too long anyway)!

I recognize that naming is a very personal thing, but does anyone have any clever suggestions? One or two syllables is best for a dog. For context, she is going to be a large mini, or possibly small medium-sized, brown labradoodle.

Bonus points for names that include (but don't necessarily start with) the letter O.
