As I was walking on a street today to my appointment, I was thinking that white button down shirts are true heroes in my wardrobe. When in doubt, not in a mood to think about outfits or simply in a rush, I put on one of my many white shirts and off I go. It instantly makes my feel better and put together. I tried it with other colors like navy and black but navy faded fast and I’m not feeling black on sunny days sometimes.
I wear white button down shirts year around, a couple is more fitted and only worn under sweaters or blazers, the rest is mostly oversized. Some are linen but I like cotton more. I don’t have silk ones, I prefer a crispier look and silk doesn’t give me enough structure.
