Just home from a week in Orlando where we spent some time at Disney World. It was nice to get a break from the weather, and out of my fleece-lined joggers for a while... Most of the month was spent planning for the trip instead of shopping. I thought I would share what I packed, and takeaways, in case it is helpful.
Where we went: The new Star Wars themed park at Hollywood Studios (crazy-crowded, but beautifully done by Disney), Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom.
What I packed (below): 6 graphic tees and 2 colored jeans, 1 extra pair of sneakers, 1 rain shell, swim suit and rash guard. On the plane, I wore the long-sleeved tee, cream hoodie, waxed jacket, blue jeans, Vans. Everything fit in my carry-on tote: a packing cube, along with a packable backpack for the park, toiletries, and makeup, and my boys' ipad, headphones, and snacks. Clothes and one extra pair of shoes for the boys and DH went in a rolling duffel suitcase.
The weather was in the low 80s one day; the rest of the week was cool (50's at night; one day the high was 61!) Everything got worn, except for the swim gear (too cold to swim). I liked that the tees and bottoms were all mixable, and interesting enough. We had laundry available in the hotel, but I ended up doing only one load the day before we left (to wash sweaty-smelling boy hoodies for the flight home). Despite drying everything on delicate, I shrunk two of my tees
I discovered a new sunscreen that I REALLY like: Babo Baby Skin Mineral SPF 50. It is a fragrance-free, silicone-free, nano-zinc that leaves NO white cast, and is water-resistant for 80 mins, and reef friendly. It did not break me out or cause my eczema to flare. It is NOT thick or pasty, and I did not burn at all. I used it on my arms and face/neck without any problems. I also tried their tinted face stick, but found it too "shiny", difficult to blend, and too small an amount for the price.
Takeaways: I am NOT feeling graphic tees and jeans for spring/summer - this has been my go-to outfit formula for the last two summers. Too hot. Too... something - just blah. Fine for vacation or theme park or whatever, but I don't feel good in it for a day-to-day look anymore.
I broke my shopping fast in February, and will add notes and Finds in the comments below. Here are Finds for the travel capsule:
