Thanks, all. It really is a perfect top for the heat -- you don't even notice that it is black (i.e. it is so breezy that it doesn't heat you up due to the colour, which does sometimes happen with black items.)
Lisa, I think it was the cost plus shipping that held you back, plus not being able to try on for sizing. It *was* pricey in CAD (for what it is, I mean -- a casual skirt made out of board short material, for heaven's sake!) but it has definitely earned its way in my closet. (One of our US friends mailed it to me so I avoided duty, yay, and thank you.)
It has been one of my most worn items in the summer for the past 3 years. I think it works because it is made of an indestructible and very cool fabric, you can get it sopping wet and it does not matter a bit, you can wash and dry it really quickly, and it needs no ironing, so it is packable (not that I have been away a ton, to say the least, but I did take it to hot Saskatchewan last summer and wore it in the evenings.) You can dress it up and you can dress it down and you can wear it as a bathing suit cover up.
The woman stopped making this length of skirt, alas. It's the best length by far, in my view!
But look here -- they are going to start shipping to Canada and you can get a discount if you sign up for their mailing list to say when! https://ripskirthawaii.com/pages/aloha-canada
