The store?

This system is unusual. I think it works, have already observed a couple moments of people revealing very personal things that happened three years or three decades ago, and the comments make it clear that people here "know" each other.

But the store? Just because I haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist! I find new little wrinkles on YLF tech all the time. One of these days I might even find a list of acronyms and terms explained. But I haven't seen a store. It is clear that the blog was much more tied to plugging products in the early years than now. Did the store go away with that?

I've been here for years and wasa lurker for longer. There are many acronyms in the archives. Imto lazy to find them but they are here. I love that the Team Angie, Greg and Inge have moved away from pushing product but maintain the integrity of the forum.

If you want to find acronyms or abbreviations, just do a search for either term, and you'll pull up quite a few threads on them, especially if you set the search time frame to longer than one year.

What are you referring to when you talk about "the system" being unusual or "the store"?

Thanks Meredith!! I'm going to go paste that link in the thread somebody else started recently, looking for a glossary.

The store is referred to in the post I linked to. I don't know anything else about it, which is why I'm asking.

The system I'm referring to is the user roles described in the post I linked to.

I've just read the blog post you linked to from 2010. It's pretty old and it's interesting to see that not many of the veteran members from then are around now, I did see Karie though!
I've only been here since Jan 2017. I suspect there isn't a "store" any more, though Angie and Greg can get some $ if Fabbers buy through using the Finds feature linking to a store like Nordstrom. As I can't really do that very easily ( wrong hemisphere and exchange rate making NZ $ to US $ price horrendous) then I try to express my appreciation for the wonderful site by being an interactive forum member. I also really, really appreciate that the site is ad-free. Hopefully Angie, Greg or Inge may explain the "store" or not question!

IIRC, the "store" was the predecessor to "finds". At some point the name was changed because Greg/Angie thought the new name more reflective of the way we use that feature.
But, of course, one will still find references to "the store" in old blog entries and forum posts.

Fashiontern - Ryce is right, the "store" was the older version of what is now called Finds. We introduced Finds in May 2014. Here's the blog post explaining how it works:

In terms of helping support Angie and Greg if you don't use the finds to purchase Jenni (and I'm in the same boat here in Australia) there's also the option to be a patron, which you may already know about.
