All the recent posts about leopard/animal print reminded me to pull out this coat I've had for a couple of seasons. In a moment of desperation last week (what else is new?) I picked up this very late- 80's inspired oversized (I know, I know, it should be semi tucked for leg lengthening blah blah blah , but it's not happening with these pants) sweater (answered three needs: lighter coloured neutrals, coziness factor, and , well, my knitwear has been sadly depleted) and these stretch wool pinstriped pants (because I like pinstripes and the nod to menswear suiting ). The only thing missing from this look is my beloved scarf - and yes, I'm still talking about it almost a year later and will not stop until I take delivery of the NEW ONE I JUST ORDERED!). Ha. I have no money to spend on clothes, but I sold a few things this past weekend and decided that the one and only piece I truly , truly miss and need and want is the bl/wh McQueen scarf. That thing made every outfit that much better. So I found a new one on eBay (in Canada) for a great price, and am hoping and praying I'm not getting scammed with some crappy knock-off. I've never bought anything off of eBay before - eek.

So - no scarf here, which is fine because it's not terribly cold out yet, and with glasses, earrings, and a heavily textured coat going on, enough is enough. Suede chelseas, and my 40th- bday -gift -to -myself bag. I also NEVER wear earrings and glasses at the same time, but decided this works because the earrings are hanging far enough away?? Am I kidding myself and there's too much happening here?

Happy Fall everyone - it's gone from a hot, dry, dustbowl of a summer straight into rainy , chilly fall. Crossing my fingers for some sun soon.

Ebay thoughts, anyone ?

Oh - and despite my dislike of fast fashion and H&M in general, I am sick and tired of spending $$ on sweaters only to have them look like crap by the end of the season. I pulled out my sweaters from last year and was so dismayed at how poor a few of them looked - and they were up there in price. Never again. H&M has great looking knitwear , and if it pills and looks horrible by winter's end, I've not lost anything, other than my promise to buy fewer and better. The ethical /financial struggle continues.
