I mentioned in my last post that I wanted to try layering an asymmetrical dress over an asymmetrical skirt. I ended up trying it out for dinner on the weekend.

I thought it could work because the skirt is longer than the dress and a thinner fabric (the dress is ponte and the skirt is silk). Because the skirt is lined, by layering it under the dress I ended up with 3 layers of skirt. That felt surprisingly luxurious.

The bag is *allegedly* vintage Chanel. I bought it from a friend of a friend who sells vintage items. It was very reasonably priced. I wonder if it is genuine. It’s definitely older. From the 90s maybe? It had a short, slightly worn thick tubular strap which I switched out for a long flat strap so I can wear it cross body.

I wore 2 belts, mixing my metals. The studded belt is silver and the plain belt is gold. The shoes have gold hardware and the bag silver. I threw in my Swarovski gold patina ring (from Etsy). It looks like a tarnished mirror (love that). The bag has beige Cs which tone in with the golden beige colours in my skirt.

I was going for a slightly punk Alexander McQueen/Vivienne Westwood vibe, like pics 1-3 (McQueen).

I know it won’t to be everyone’s taste but it was a lot of fun to put together and wear.

Stomp, stomp, swish, swish.

Your thoughts on asymmetry, swishy skirts, stompy boots, mixed metals and spotting a fake Chanel welcome
