My "work uniform" has evolved a bit since I walked into a J. Jill 4 years ago and came out with some ponte pants and a comfy knit button-down. Even though my needs and circumstances have changed, I stand by my original inclination that there are days when I want to save all my decision-making effort and mental energy for the work ahead of me. Those are the days I reach for all black.

I embarked on a new project recently that has me buckling down 3 or 4 days a week. My last purchases of summer couldn't have come at a better time. Gudrun Sjoden pants (a YLF-influenced purchase, after seeing Jenava's fab burgundy linen ones -- though mine are a slightly different shape and lightweight cotton--very lightweight, but still not nearly as see-through as it looks on camera) and a Hackwith Design wrap top that I've had my eye on for a while.

Here I am, early in the morning and makeup-free, right after a quick morning walk and before settling in for a day in front of the computer.
