Hi all

I have a new skirt. It’s by Brunello Cucinelli. This is an expensive brand but it was one of those last-one-available, please-just-take-it sale items on YOOX.

It’s a gorgeous thing. My husband loves it. (He rarely comments on what I wear.)

I wore it with a belt. I twisted the buckles to the side to line up with the side slit of the skirt. And did a semi (side) tuck. (I tried a full tuck too but didn’t like that.) I’m not sure if I like the side tuck. I will try something else next time. What’s life without some failed fashion experiments.

The top looks black but is actually a dark metallic brown. I also wore heels for the first time in forever. More a platform than a heel, so reasonably comfortable.

I tried it with a long cardigan similar to Angie’s formula no 1. We were eating outside so I thought I might need a topper. It’s nice to be able to participate in the Friday outfit formula, as usually it’s out of season for us in the Southern Hemisphere. It ended up being a lovely mild night, but the cardigan stayed ready for duty on the back of my chair.

I mentioned in my last post that I’m trying to work more colours into my outfits. I’d like to achieve a greater depth in my colour palette, while keeping things low to medium contrast. Counting the cardigan, there are at least 4 browns here, a graduation of greys, silver, black, and rose gold. So that made me happy!

Your thoughts welcome.
