skirted leggings or leggings with skirt

Here's my knock-off on Angie's skirted leggings post. I took a pair of fleece lined leggings (it's cold outside! 9 degrees F) and then added my VC tube skirt. I shortened the tube skirt by folding over the waistband. Wearing it shorter made me feel a little more "bootay conscious," but I think it looked OK. I do prefer longer skirts so I didn't make it all that short. I avoided cling by spraying the inside of the skirt with Static Guard and by wearing my Gap Body slip underneath. I popped on my gray long sleeved tee and denim jacket, black booties, added a scarf and some bangle bracelets just for fun, and out the door I went. Easy peasy!

Most of the skirted leggings looks have more of an A-line or pencil skirt, but the one on the far left in Angie's ensemble looks more tube-ish and the one in the middle is longer, so I thought I'd give my version a go. I'm not sure if this is more "leggings with skirt" than "skirted leggings," but either way my happiness factor was quite high!

Nailed it!! This works really well on you! I like it with a tube shaped skirt. Hmmm. I hadn't thought of rolling the waist band of the VC skirt. I find they cling too much at midi length with tights to wear and they are not very warm...but I hadn't tried fleece tights, which must really improve the warmth. Smart move.

And wow, wasn't it cold today? We got a mini-blizzard, too.

Echo, I've always preferred near-the-knee skirts, even when I was a child. I used to drive my mother crazy looking high and low for skirts that went to my knees.

Looks fabulous karie!! I was looking for a tube skirt to go over my leggings when I stumbled on the EF skirted version. If I had had the correct pieces I would have used them. Great look and you are layered for warmth!! Hope you feel great because you look fabulous!!

We had quite a blizzard last week - Wednesday was especially bad - but no snowfall now and temps a rising (from -15C to -3C). Almost balmy weather now!

Sveta, the waistband on the skirt is a little big anyway, and the form-fitted-ness of the skirt (especially when hiked up) helped keep everything in place. I was pleasantly surprised that the waist didn't move around or bunch up at all. The only slightly annoying part was using the loo - I had to re-adjust the waistband after that, and it was hard to see it because the scarf was in the way!
