After the hack! Did I do OK?

I got my BR crops Thursday, and tried them with lots of tops. I like them a lot but I'm not sure of the length. I will probably wear them with sandals like the ones I'm wearing because I live where the summers are long and hot, and I want to wear them with booties in fall/winter. How short should I crop these crops without loosing the column of color?

I cut off one inch and washed and dried my crops on low. Is this short enough? Photo #1 = before. Photo #2 = after the hack.

I tend to like my crops just a tad shorter (an inch or two) above where yours hit. But I am beginning to think that this is a matter of personal style preference. My suggestion would be to undercuff your crops at a couple of lengths that are a tad shorter than what you have now -- then take photos of each to compare and to see what looks better to your eyes. BTW -- I adore the Queen Bee tee! Fabulous on you!

I love your outfit, Bonnie! So relaxed and hip looking. I would say maybe an inch. Angie's guideline is 2 to 4 inches above the ankle.

I was fearing shortening my cropped flares, and I think I'm going to take 1/2 to 3/4 inch off them, after all.

Love this outfit on you!

I think you *can* definitely go a little shorter -- may 1/2 inch? -- but I personally have to play with the dang rolls/cuff etc to see what works. So I'm on El Cee's side here -- play a bit.

BTW I use paper clips and binder clips for faux-hemming LOL. A roll-up for testing would works even if the underside is lighter.

Here's where I've landed on this topic.

1. For wearing with booties -- you can go longer. So that just a sliver of skin shows. Try the pants with boots to see if the current length is OK or if they need to be shorter.
2. For wearing with sandals, I like to go shorter. So if these are to be summer pants, I'd go shorter by 1-2 inches here, maybe even more, it's hard to tell from the photo.

So unfortunately that means a couple pairs of pants. We're back to needing perfection (PPL) in the pants length department. I miss the rolled hem so much. I admit I still do it, as the ability to micro-adjust to each pair of shoes, is so practical. Especially when you're on the short side like I am.

That's about how mine fit and I plan to take them up an inch. I tried hiking them up around my thighs to see how they look with various shoes. Shorter was better.
I haven't started yet but it should be an easy alteration.

It's amazing how much impact just an inch off can make. I'd pin them and check again before hemming them up, though - just to be on the safe side.

I think they look good at this length but keep in mind I'm still trying to figure out the length of my crops so I'm no expert. I might be hacking off mine soon and was thinking that I would try to pull some threads to get some of the fringe back. Did you have to do that?

Colette: I didn't pull threads yet. I did like the way the original fringe was done and I noticed there was a seam above it to protect it. I guess that will be my next project.
