Princess Diana sweater - YouLookFab Forum

In honour of Princess Diana's 60th birthday, I decided to wear my sheep sweater which was based upon the sweater worn by Princess Diana herself. It is absolutely weather appropriate, because it is cold and wet in Australia at the moment.

This sweater is made by Rowing Blazers as a collaboration with Warm and Wonderful, the makers of Princess Diana's original sweater. This sweater was a splurge item, my 2020 Christmas present. I know I also got a Radley wallet, but that was because when I ordered the sweater in November 2020, due to great demand my sweater would not be made and shipped until February 2021. DH thought I needed a present to unwrap on Christmas Day, hence I was spoilt and got two Christmas presents.

I love this sweater and it is one of those items that is a forever piece for me. It really ticks the boxes of things that I love:

the 1980's
its fun and perfect to wear with jeans
it is functional, nice and warm - 100% sheep wool, soft and not itchy
it is beautifully made.

A basic formula to celebrate ordinary dressing, jeans, sweater and boots but one that I feel fab in because I love that little black sheep!

Fashintern - this bag has been surprisingly versatile. I seem to wear quite a bit of red in winter and the tartan is such a nice cheery pattern.

Janet - I just checked out Katie Sturino - what a breathe of fresh air she is. I love her copy of Princess Diana's looks and also her mantra "We don't compare who did it better, that only brings us down".

Angie - the 1980's were such a fun decade, the fashion was so over the top. I saw a great speech given by Hamish Bowles (online) about the 1980's London Club fashion and it was so fun to hear him talk about the innovative designers that created completely outrageous looks.

LisaP - I love the Princess Diana connection of this sweater too as it reminds me of my Mum and her magazines that invariably had Diana on the cover during my adolescence. I used to get annoyed that Mum had a subscription to the Women's Weekly instead of Vogue or Harpers!
