Outfit built around blue sparkle skirt

WIW for an evening reception related to hubby’s work. I knew it would be held in a hip cocktail bar, so I felt free to get a little wacky.
I like the peacock-blue color and sparkle of the tee, but feel that the low neck and the low placement of the graphic pulls the eye downward too much. Probably won’t reach for it again for a dressy outfit.

Unbelievably, as I was putting the skirt away in the closet, hubs said, “is that what you were wearing? I didn’t notice it.” And here I thought it was so eye catching!

Yet another reminder that shoulders/bust/face is what most people are looking at.

Well *I* think the skirt is amazing and I love the earrings and your hair, so I hope I would have noticed the whole package. But I think you are right. Hopefully his comment didn't deflate you too much. I know my DH is quite good at deflating me without meaning to!

Love the skirt and boots, but agree the graphic on the t looks awkward. Im guessing its loose and a design on a more fitted one stay put better?
Husbands notice and dont notice things at random it seems!

I really like the combination of blue and grey. Would filling in the neckline with something shiny/silver balance the graphic and bring the eye upward? Maybe a small silver scarf tied neckerchief style? Or a silver chain? Could be ALGO with the earings, however.

Did you see what Katerina did with a silk scarf and gold chunky hardware salvedged from a purse? I could see you doing something like that.

Blue sparkles are your thing these days. Don't you have blue sparkle COS culottes too? That T-shirt just looks too big overall. Could you nip the seems at the shoulders up half an inch or so?

Fashintern, you’re right, I think blue sparkles appeal because they feel more interesting than black!
Carla, wasn’t that scarf post fab! The lippie is Clinique Chubby stick in Heaping Hazelnut. This is my first time to try it and I’m not in love— the color is barely anything on my lips, and the texture is nice and moisturizing but only lasts about half an hour :(. I know others love it, though.

This looks like a fantastic outfit for the venue. I am wondering if the photo makes the proportions a bit different than IRL. The boots are fantastic! What are they?

I have the same feeling about the Chubby stick, by the way. Although some colours are more durable than others -- I have a purplish one that is just so sheer and light you'd never know it was on, but a berry one that is deeper and lasts longer.

Great makeup and hair, as always and pretty skirt and earrings. Outfit looks just right for the hip bar, at least how I imagine it, don’t have much experience LOL. My DH is very oblivious too. I would wear something constantly and he would always ask is that new, like he is seeing it for the first time. And sometimes when I do get something new he would not notice.

I love this styling - looks fantastic. I. A chubby stick addict ... Some are moisturizing and some are intense; I use the one type for day/more like a balm and the other for evening or more defined looks.
