One base layer: 2 looks 3/2/21

I'm currently infatuated with purple and hope to find a really top quality lilac or purple blouse or sweater that will stand up to everyday wear . I'm currently working with an inexpensive lilac waffle knit sweater and have worn it about 10 times already (haha) but it's doing it's cheap knitwear thing of losing shape all too quickly. If anyone has any great ideas for something really topnotch I'm all ears.

I had a minor medical procedure today so took today and tomorrow off (must be sure, you know , lol) . Also took advantage of having a car, everyone else at work or school and no-one monitoring my business to do some shopping (yay!)

Here are two versions of loose, high waisted wide leg jeans, and this basic lilac sweater. I wore lilac socks from Anthro (my new favourite source for great socks) and an ancient Prada bag that I NEVER use, and an old Coach neck scarf (yes, mixing logos which is gross but the scarf isn't logoed and I removed the label) .

Look 1 - a short putty coloured puffy that still has the tags on and I'm not committed to yet. Paired with putty-coloured soled lug boots to tie the the jacket colour in .

Look 2 - old black nylon/silver lining Gap coat and plain black Fly London lug boots.

Ended up wearing Look 2 only because I'm not 100% sure on the jacket. It's not expensive at all though and I can definitely use it, so I'm not sure what's holding me up.

I really like the putty coloured puffer, looks good with your jeans and lug boots, the lilac scarf stands out rather nicely against the putty colour and brightens the whole look. Bag and scarf work well together.

Had to laugh when you said you had no one monitoring your business, cause I know what you mean.
Kitty seems to match your colour theme too.

We live in close quarters now , with 3 people and 2 cars . We are all up in each others’ business all the time which I frankly find a challenge . Which is why I don’t shop anymore or ever go out . Not worth the explaining and justifying, lol.

Jeans look good! I like the putty puffer a lot. The hem detail,and length suit you. I especially like the tie in with your light soled boots seems like you could pair them frequently with different toppers.

I love both outfits but have to say again how good your hair looks! That color just suits you so well and the cut is perfect! The putty color of the puffy looks great with the hair color. I vote cut the tags!

Is the hood removable on a H&M jacket? If yes, I would try to remove it.

Irina , sadly no. It wasn’t clear on the website and I hoped it would really be removable. It’s not a job I would attempt either . It’s the main reason I’m on the fence . It’s quite a bulky hood / collar combo.

The fellow in the last photo is Bandit . One of two crazy brothers we adopted a year ago . “ They are quite something “is the most polite way to phrase it . They have destroyed my couch and my all time favourite chair - which makes me literally cry whenever I’m prepping the house for visitors .. I’m trying not to focus on that and to remind myself why I love cats

I'll say that the putty puffer (and that whole outfit) just struck me as more visually pleasing. Maybe because I personally am not so much into the whole all black thing anymore. Though I hear you if the bulkiness of collar/hood is bothersome.

And the cat, please.

The lilac top and scarf are lovely together, and the putty puffer is divine to brighten and springtime up the whole look another level. I tend to agree on the black looking heavy.

The hood joins the under collar and is sewn into the body of the jacket and finished with a binding . I might take it into a tailor tomorrow if I find time . I’m not doing it myself . The level of detail in the construction is quite amazing for an H&M piece .

And re the black coat looking heavy - I see that in photos , but it’s still winter here with lots of snow Too early for spring clothing .

Well, I don’t see the black outfit as heavy. Maybe because I wear black myself and more comfortable with it. I actually like black with this shade of soft purple/lavender.

Haven't read the comments yet but I really love lilac/ lavender with your new hair. When I dyed my hair a sort of auburn, I adored lavender/ lilac. (I still love it, but it really came into its own then, and also, greens.) It's rich and vibrant and also spring-like.

I quite like this new putty puffer coat! Interesting shape and looks like a nice change up from dark. I like the black outfit also but the lighter one probably feels more spring-like. It also ties in well with the lighter soled boots.

The jeans look fab from what I can tell!

I don't know Lisa, Bandit looks like he is monitoring you pretty closely. I like both versions and think dark colors tend to look better in person than photos. The hood doesn't bother me because I see the puffer as being sporty if that makes sense.

I like the putty puffer very much! I think I'm developing a sugar eye for winter whites, though, so I'm biased. They just look very fresh to my eye these days. The hood doesn't bother me -- I like the face -framing effect.

I love Bandit! The way he is sitting with his paw crooked under...I can barely stand the cuteness.
