I haven’t read the other comments yet…but that bag, please put it back into regular rotation! And it’s perfect with that scarf.

I prefer the jacket in the 2nd version-while I love the color in the 1st, for me, I prefer the longer length in the dark jacket.

I am the lookout for this exact shade in a knit for Easter---but no luck till the moment- that's why I can relate on your exact subject. At least you do have beautifull accessories to match already! Love these outfits both, but I would cut tags on the putty puffer-for sure (hooded or not:-))! And, you lucky girl, your new hair color is so fably kept-do you have darker or lighter roots than the color?

Both look great, and I agree with kkards about the bag and scarf. I’ve never heard that about wearing two “clashing” logos, but the branding on these is so subtle one would never know. I’m not big on logos anyway.

Janet - that was sort of a joke about the two logos . Sometimes my words fail me I have kept that bag for probably 25 years because who gives away a Prada anything, but it was a mistake from the outset because it doesn't work with anything in my wardrobe and never has. Hence my obsession with finding something purple now while it's trending.

lyn - no roots showing yet - this is very close to my natural hair colour, just a bit more vibrant.

Sheryl - thank you for the Aritizia finds! I don't love merino wool, but I think I've had that first waffle knit sweater in another colour in past years and do love that style . I'm going to pop into the store today to check it out!

Hi Marilyn! Nice to hear from you , and I'm laughing at the purple comment. You're right - I did/do have that view. It's kind of a love/hate relationship. In the past, purple was only shown as a jewel tone mostly worn with black or grey, and along with other jewel tones like magenta and emerald and cobalt.....and yes, I did not care for (she chooses her words with care ) that whole vibe. BUT, mixed with earth tones, they take on a new look that I like. Purple and rust or cognac is really good looking to my eye and I hope to wear it this summer.

How are you? And how do you feel about Nordstrom closing here? It doesn't impact me in any way at all. I haven't ordered from them in a few years now, and while I include them in every search I do for something specific, they never have what I am looking for. Or if they do, it's the same item other retailers offer.

I recently got this one. It's the same shade as your current stand in. I will say; it's final sale but very inexpensive. I didn't love how the sleeves sat on me. But it's because I'm small in the ribcage and have a large chest where the volume is mostly horizonal. So the extra volume in the sleeve in that area isn't lovely. I'm keeping it because I can't return it but I probably will keep it under a jacket layer for now.

Likely it would fit you much better; not sure you like the "oversized" style (of course you can size down but the cut is still pretty boxy).

I'm intrigued by your approach to mixing this shade (which I consider a warm shade of lavender) with earth tones. I think I may play around with that. I have cool coloring so this shade (and earth shades) aren't the most flattering on me, but I still do enjoy them. I and love unexpected color combinations!

Really like the putty puffer and the putty-soled boots. Bandit is adorable. Another happy member of furniture destroyed by cats club here.

I like the purple colour on you. Nice with your hair! And the outfit that you wore looks great. I don’t think the black jacket looks heavy at all.

Re: the putty jacket. I agree H&M can be surprisingly good quality for the price. I got a couple of parkas from them last year that have really worked for me. But only you can decide whether you really like it enough for it to earn a place in your wardrobe.

Always on the lookout for silvery lavender anything or deep aubergine anything - keep us posted as you find good purples! Love how your lipstick goes with the scarf, very cool.

I also find it stressful to have everywhere I go questioned. Sometimes I just say, "It's a secret," when I'm really going to the ATM, the post office, or some other completely boring errand. (It feels important to have a little mystery, you know?)

Bad Bandit. I'm going to start an OT thread on The Cats of YLF.

I like both coats a lot, but I wonder if the putty one is too sporty/casual for you, in terms of this stage of your style evolution? It seems like you like outerwear to have a certain polish, and maybe this coat comes up a little short? Removing the hood would give it more polish, I think, so it just depends on how much investment you're willing to make to get the look you want.

I too love purples with earth tones--looks fresh and really suits your coloring, with your new hair color. I don't have much purple in my wardrobe, but did just buy some cotton parachute pants in an eggplant color, and plan to wear them with earthy colors and perhaps some blues.

The recent Dries van Noten fall '23 RTW wear show featured a few looks that combined light purples/pinks with earth tones--unexpected and interesting, to my eye.
