Thank you all so much for your sweet comments.
Windchime, the white puffer is from 1988 (nineteen-eightyeight). And in fact, my hair was greying already then. But for the next ten years I often coloured my hair, at least to some degree. However, no matter what hair colours I have had up though the years, I have always felt good in white. And when I bought the puffer, one of the reasons was that I considered white to be a versatile colour--I imagined that this puffer could be worn with bottoms in practically any colour. And it really has proven to be versatile, as I still use it year round, not every day or week, but a few times a month.
Staysfit, yes, where I live, snow can be expected from the middle of October till the middle of May. And for several months there are mud, slush and salt in many places. But I don't lie down and roll myself in the mud. So ordinary laundry has been enough. However, I ALWAYS wash white clothes with other white clothes ONLY. And if needed, I'll use a Vanish spray (or similar product) a few minutes before I throw the puffer into the machine. In some cases, I've just used a little dish soap and wiped away visible dirty spots as soon as possible.
