October ends in a few days, and I'll be tied up with work, so I'm prepared to call on new purchases! Five for me this month, plus two basic white tees that I'm not showing here.
(See September and August in the links.)
This marks my first month in the UK, and everything was picked up in brick and mortar shops.
The Hobbs Saskia trench was a long-planned purchase -- inspired by Angie and others fabbers have this in different colorways -- once it hit the end of season sale, and it's been perfect weather for it, so it's gone into circulation immediately. The scarf is also from Hobbs, and was hanging with the trench in the store: a very soft wool-cotton blend (though a little delicate) that goes with everything in my black/navy/white/cream palette.
The Clarks boots were more like semi-planned and filled a gap for a flat, walkable comfy ankle boot: not like anything else I have in my wardrobe and I love them. More refined than Blundstones, but will a similar vibe, and an everyday, workhorse shoe for me.
The bag was spotted in a cute Anthropologie-like shop, Oliver Bonas https://www.oliverbonas.com/, and eventually came home with me: it's huge and fuzzy and looks great carried nearly empty to work (laptop, a book) and then also filled up with groceries and wine on the way home. I love it.
Last, the black lace dress from Oasis has been a long-time wish: this one fits beautifully, drapes nicely, and was not expensive. I will not wear it often, but will enjoy having it my closet.
There are many days now where I wear four out of five new pieces, so count me a member of TEAM WEAR!
My closet feels well stocked except for knitwear: I've got tons of blazers, which are great for Mon-Fri, but I'll soon be on the lookout for some kind of comfy cardigan or knit topper for off-duty. (The black one I got the in NAS sale in August pills terribly.) Ideas welcome -- and thanks for reading!
