No Repeat November - wardrobe count

I posted the full month of photos here and will start my November analysis with the wardrobe count, specifically what is in my current wardrobe and what I wore in November. About a week ago I posted my closet inventory
here. My closet has all seasons included so there are summer items that I did not wear. The interesting thing is that I was able to incorporate many summer items into my November days by layering. There are also items that I
would normally wear to work that I did not wear because I was stuck at home
with my ankle issue. So, basically, I wore my at home clothes and looking at the photos is a real eye opener for me. I will go into more on that subject in another thread. So, on to my closet count and what I wore.

Item - Closet - November wear

Shirts and tops (including tee's) - 39 - 18

Cardigans - 14 - 4

Pullovers - 10 - 5

Skirts - 6 - 1

pants (including jeans) - 13 - 16 -(3 out of the donate bag)

jackets/toppers - 13 - 7

shoes - 38 - 5

boots - 2 - 2

booties - 6 - 4

I did repeat items but not a whole outfit. I wore my white button up 3 times and 2 other tops twice. Of the 4 cardigans I wore, three were worn twice. The dark aqua pants I wore five times, the burgundy pants four times, white cords twice, one pair of jeans three time and two other pair of jeans twice each. The cobalt pullover was worn three times and the black pullover was worn twice. Because of my foot issue, I was limited to the footwear I could wear. I normally rotate my shoes regularly so this is not a good representation of my normal wear. I wore my black Aquatalia’s 7 times and my grey boots once. The new Chinese Laundry booties got worn 5 times and the Nine West booties got worn 6 times. This was very surprising to me because I bought them October 2012 and wore them maybe 3 times last F/W. I did not change my bag because I did not go anywhere.

I think if I had been able to into the office my month would not look the same. Basically, you are seeing my ‘at home’ casual wardrobe.

The pictures I attached are my favorites of the month.

That distinction between to the office and at home is an important one, I think. Good for you for doing the challenge despite your own challenge with footwear and being home bound!
I think my repeated items came in at around 3 or 4 wears for some things - notably shorts and tees. Were you happy with your amount of repetition or did you wish for less repeats? I was content with mine, in that they mixed up quite differently each time (one tee with pants, shorts and a skirt for example).

Mo, the repeated items really did not bother me. The farther into the month I got, the harder it was not to repeat a whole outfit, though.

Interesting that you, Mo, and I were all "at home" this month to do the challenge. Well, I'm always at home for work, LOL. But it's nice that we can compare notes.

I'm going to do what you did and total up the number of times I wore things and the things worn vs. unworn. Hadn't thought to look at it that way -- thank you.

You're learning so much! I'm impressed with all of the effort you put in and love following along. I noticed that all of your favourites have a similar shallow v neckline and some kind of interesting layering up top. They're almost all higher contrast too! Not sure if any of that is helpful or not.

I'm impressed with how your November numbers stack up against your closet count. I think those stats are great for one month of wear. I felt the same as you finding it hard not to repeat whole outfits as the month wore on. I had plenty of other things to wear. I just really liked a few of my outfits and wanted to wear them again.

I am impressed that you did all this work.The outfits you chose are pretty fab and I noticed that in your favorites are repeated items. Do you think that some of this items make an outfit happy factor go up?

These are great posts Deb. I like your hair curled too, I just thought I'd throw that out there! Also, I'm curious about the unworn items and if they were mostly summer things. I'll check out your other posts to find out.
