New Sandals. Winners? ETA: More images.

I've had to order three pairs of these to get the sizing right. Ugh. And I think I love them but I feel like I have been so fickle these days. I thought they had the right amount of edge but were in keeping with my minimal preferences. But what do you think?

I like them. It's hard to tell in the picture, are they cutting into the front part of your shin right near your ankle? It looks like that might feel uncomfortable when walking.

Staysfit: The leather is pretty thin and soft so it's not cutting into the front part of my ankle (yet). You've made a good point thought and I plan to wear them tonight in the living room in hopes of considering comfort. Thanks!

I copied this definition of the web. It is basically the top part of the shoe, they can be low-vamp, e.g. very open like ballet flats, or high vamp, that is very covered like, say oxfords.

Definition: Part of the "upper," the vamp is a part of the shoe that can cover anywhere on the top part of the foot between where the toes and the legs connect to the foot.

In styles that don't offer a lot of coverage on top of the foot, the part that covers
the tops of the toes might also be referred to as the vamp.

In somewhat the same vein, I like these that appeared from Topshop today -- and you could get 3 pairs of these for the same price.

I like the idea of them. The vamp looks like it's cutting into your ankle. Is that comfy? Looks a little long.

Definitely edgy, and I think they meet your style preferences. But, aren't they hot? I know you get an awesome breeze there, but will they work for you in the dregs of the heat?

Angie: Not uncomfortable yet but still testing them. And I'm having big issues finding edgy sandals and open toe booties...UGH. Many returns, many searches.

carter: Maybe hot be we do get a breeze. And good until June. And great in AC. Will need other edgy for dead of summer. I have a new pair of slides, I'll go take picture of those too. Why not???

I like them a lot but I see what the others are saying about the high vamp. I hope they pass the comfort test. The second pair doesn't appeal to me as much.

I so sympathize with the search for edgy sandals! I love the LD Tuttles I have and wish I could find more styles that so successfully combine flattery, comfort and cool. I'll be watching your search with interest!

I have been seeing sandals like the first ones a lot. They are cool..I think I like them best with crops or rolled like BF. Not sure I like the high vamp with skirts or shorts. But that is just me.

They definitely look as though they are cutting into your ankles. They look like they hurt, even if they don't, and the lines from where they were are apparent in the photos of the other sandals. I don't think they could loosen up enough to not look like they were digging into your skin, so I'd pass.

Janet: I'm not having fun searching for edging sandals! So much searching and searching. The other pair were $20 bucks. So I'm keeping them. They'll definitely work for sitting out on the deck and running around in. Plus, I'll need some variety. And thanks for the vote of confidence ...and to keep looking. Ugh.

always trying: I've seen a few in this cut and they are expensive. I think this was the lease expensive I found and I was able to score these for 25% off. And yes, good with cropped, BF. Also thinking leggings.

Echo: You weren't supposed to see that crease in my skin from the high vamp. You have hawk eyes! Ugh. I'm trying to stretch them... I can't tell you how hard of a time I'm having finding edgy sandals. Still thinking this over...

I like them but Angie may be right; I can see the indentations of the vamps on your ankles in the second set of pictures. It may not feel like much at home but maybe uncomfortable for prolonged walking?

I like the idea of them, AM. The style is fantastic for you. But I would definitely consider whether they will be comfortable all day (if that's what you want). I'm not a fan of shoes that cut into my lower ankle area. That said, my favorite summer shoes seemed to do it a little at first and then loosened up quite quickly. (See Find below.)
I like the ones with the crossed straps--good find!

There basically the exact copy of my LD Tuttle sandals I got a few years ago.
The leather on mine are very soft, with a good footbed. That footbed looks hard.

I just ordered these rag and bone...for comparison. Maybe to keep. Perhaps to wait until they're on sale. Just depends.

Firecracker: I like to hear that your shoes stretched. And they aren't uncomfortable. And again, I'm not wearing them all day long. I'm rationalizing. Ugh. And I'm also looking for peep toe boots with a block heel. I've been searching on these for a while but I'm so damn particular. I like ultra clean, minimal, modern, styling. The search continues and I'm still thinking about these. And yes, feel good about the $20 crossed straps!

I like them and they look edgy BUT I can see that they cut into your ankles. Sorry. I wonder if they would stretch and soften. There must be some way to do that if you really love them. I would love them with dark toe polish.

Oh I hope they do turn out comfortable enough, because they are certainly edgy enough and seem like fit your style perfectly! I know how hard it is to find the right sandals - most of them are either too casual, or too dressy!

I like the first more than the second -- but that is a personal thing.
(I have long toes and so I much prefer when sandals go straight across.)
But I am worried about your long-term comfort too. I also really like the R&B, but after Anna's comment wonder about the footbed. Ugh. This is really tough! Report on those R&Bs when they come in, please!!!
