My jacket came! I love it!

I took a picture with the clasp, and then promptly took it off and took more pictures. The clasp wasn't secured very well (it looks like it started to rip before, and someone went back and reattached it with white thread), and there's absolutely no way I would feel comfortable wearing this jacket with the rhinestone clasp in public.

However, I am open to the idea of getting a new clasp. I also like the jacket open, so maybe I could leave it clasp-less. Opinions?

It really IS killer. Fits you like a glove.

I think you could go clasp-less, but it might be fun to personalize it somehow. Maybe you can just leave it off until you find something that inspires you.

I love it too. I like it so much that I can't imagine another clasp making better - just different. What a great twist on tweed ( say that 10 times fast ).

Oh perfect! I like it closed best - it really gives you a curvy shape that way - and, I must say, I do like the clasp - but, think it sounds fun to maybe customize it with your own choice of clasps! Great purchase! (And such a pretty kitty!)

Oh Kate, I'm so glad it worked out - it's PERFECT on you! I could see a brown tortoise shell or maybe some kind of horn type of clasp working. I think a jeweled one would be really pretty but I feel like the white of the current one is too harsh with all the greens in the jacket.

sooooo cute. kate, it really shows off your waist. i like the extra length in the back. gives the feel of a riding jacket without being a riding jacket.

if you have fun brooches, you can use those as a clasp to change it up every time you wear it. i will go against the group and say that i like it open. less fussy. BUT i do like the option of wearing it closed.

again, fab color on your skin tone, fab fit on your body, and, well, just fab!

Looks like everything worked out exactly as planned -- looks great!

Cutaway bottoms are my favorite jacket style for my shape (Rectangle) because they create a slight curviness when open and -- as Marley said -- a LOT of curviness when closed.

So while this hangs well when open, I'd be on the lookout for a new clasp just to have more options. Have fun with it!

I liked this first time around...minus the clasp is awesome!! does it really need one? Perhaps find something decorative and less functional if you wish to wear it open.

I think doing this would really antique up the bright shiny white stones and bring them into the same color family as the fabric. And if you're willing to swap out the clasp anyway, it might be fun to try this first. Got nothing to lose, right?

That's amazing Srujana! I actually have a rhinestone broach from my high school prom dress that I might try this with. That way I can wear the jacket without any clasp when the occasion calls for it, but I can dress up the jacket a bit (and boost my curves) other times. I also like the idea of getting a couple different broaches for this, so I can customize the jacket to fit the occasion!
