Aw, hehe. I thought it was the Hinge tweed shorts to wear with tights. My bad! If I happen to go to my store tomorrow (I shouldn't, I shouldn't) then I'll check for you.
That was my attitude with the sale this morning. I waited until I got settled at the office before I even went to nordstrom.com. If what I wanted was there, fine. If not? It wasn't meant to be.
Good luck!

Sarah and Khris, thanks for the additional descriptions. And yes Sarah, I can see this jacket being a very versatile piece for me. Btw your loot sounds really fabulous! For some reason I thought of you when I read about the Trina Turque sleeveless dress on Angie's hot list. Probably because I know you love the brand and are forced into a lot of sleeveless styles where you live.
Rosie: Angie insists upon the red for the KC tunic, and that suits me fine. I love the sound of the purple jacket, but am having trouble visualizing how it would fit into my wardrobe. And for that price, I better have at least a couple of ideas. As for the Chanel-esque jacket, Angie says go for "black multi." Is that black and grey or are there other colours going on there?
Oh and Khris, if more catalogs employed people with your descriptive prowess, I'd shop exclusively online!

Michelle, the black multi is a black/gray/white mix. It's very striking!
Angie told me "no dresses" until I wear all the ones I currently have. But now I must go check that one out. Thanks for thinking of me!

Michelle, you've enabled Sarah! I LOVE the red in the KC - that is the color I'm considering. I understand what you mean about the Purple leather jacket. Perhaps some more thinking on that one is in order.

Sarah explained the black multi well. Hmmm Angie is saying that one...I dunno which one to get! Hopefully I'll get to try them both and see which looks better.

Khris, it's not too late!

I went this morning - it was very quiet at 8:30 am, which I really appreciated.

I bought:

Kenna-T Faux Fur Jacket - I thiink I'm going to have it shortened a little so that it just hits where my leg bends when seated. This one won over three other jackets, all leather, because I really like the collar and I am really trying to break of of my black, safe, boring rut.

Nine West 'Madeup' Pump (Leopard) (breaking out of my only black and brown shoes rut)

Söfft 'Fiorella' Pump (Grey Suede), ditto.

Katja, what fun items!!! I love them.

How fun to see everyone's picks! I can't believe my order confirmation says I won't get my shipment until 7/29. What?? How am I going to wait that long??

I really want to order that Guess riding jacket but I'm worried it won't fit me through the shoulders and arms. I'd order the Large. Have any wider-shouldered lasses tried it on IRL and can comment on the fit?

ETA: Ha, forget it, Nordstrom wants to charge me $90+ in shipping and duty for a $190 order. I do not like this 51whatever international checkout thing. Overstock.com also uses it. From what I can tell, they estimate customs charges to be about twice as much as what they'd be IF the package even got hit at the border, which it often wouldn't, and then force you to pay them in advance with no recourse if the fees turn out to have been overestimated. Boo. Plus, I can tell the shipping fees are more expensive than they should be.

Definitely fun to read about the loot - thanks for starting the thread Laura! Can't believe you have to wait that long.

I went in at 9:30. Found out the store was not carrying David Kahn anymore; only the main SF store is, I guess. Boo.

Went in to buy the Sanctuary tweed shorts, OTK socks, and to check out the Halogen cowl-neck tunic. Left with WAY more stuff (oops). Don't have time right now to list it all, but briefly:
- The tweed shorts are awesome! Very comfortable and stylish. I don't think they are too short for me, but I'm not a particularly modest person. Will post pics later.
- I got 3 pairs of OTK socks. I don't think I need all of them!
- Halogen tunic didn't work for me. It clung at an awkward place for me around the midsection. I also tried sizing up like Laura did; liked it much better then but then the cowl section draped too low and I didn't want to wear anything under it. Oh well, can't wait to see how other YLFers wear their

More later!

Cathy, want me to look for David Kahn in SF tonight?

Hi, ladies, i'm Babs and i'm a shopper...there, the first step is admitting I have a problem! Long time lurker, first time poster. The discussion in the past month has been so good that I've meant to post so many times. better late than never--and on the NAS thread!

Booked a stylist (first time!) for 2 hours. I'm set for the next year.

For all you dress fiends, eliza j has some great shirtdresses to wear now at NAS prices.

whew, posting wasn't so scary after all!

babs

Just wanted to say welcome to the forum, Babs! If ever there was a perfect time to delurk, this is it!
Glad you had such a successful hawl. Maybe you can start a thread introducing yourself and post a few pictures of your loot?

Hi Babs! Welcome! Oh...you are not alone being a shopper!

So glad you got some great stuff at NAS. That dress looks really cute!!

Sure, Rosie, that'd be good to know what David Kahn they have there! If they have petite sizes, even better

I want to see everyone's loot on! That's a YLF order :0)

I've had less than 3 hours sleep and I am still going strong because of the adrenalin of the sale at the flagship this morning. I picked up my preselected stash and have been swooning over it all afternoon. Absolutely the best sale of the year for me by far.

I'll do another blog post on additional hot picks soon. Wooohooo! So excited!!!

Yay, Angie! I got my first shipment today, and I'm soooo excited!

Hi Babs! Thanks for delurking!

Angie-Can't wait to see your additional picks.

Welcome Babs! You've found an amazing forum that's a lot of fun:)

I wandered over to our store around 2 this afternoon. After all your warnings, I really didn't think it would be crazy busy given that our store is very small in a small city. HA. It was mobbed. And lots of things I wanted to look at were hard to find as there were only one or two left, hiding behind other things.

That said, I looked at all but one thing on my list. I was underwhelmed by the shoe dept...lots of gorgeous boots but not for my narrow calves. And no other shoes that I just had to have.

I looked at the Hinge Chanel-esque jacket and was smitten, but the red is a warm red, which doesn't suit me, and I don't need any more black in my closet. Although I still have it on the brain...no doubt they're all gone by now anyway.

Like Sarah, I bought the Halogen seamed skirt in bronze olive. It's not a color I'd want anywhere near my face, but it looks great in a skirt. I found the skirt to be slightly large and long. Even though I'm 5'5" with relatively long legs, I ended up buying the petite, which hit just above my knees.

I also stocked up on Shimera boyshorts (3 for $24).

Found a Tria ruffled twill jacket in raspberry that's fun. Not a part of the sale, but on sale nonetheless.

Also got the black leather and chain wrap bracelet. It's wider than it looks in the picture and could be used as a bracelet, necklace or possibly a belt:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/31.....0&P=1

And picked up a pair of Spanx textured tights:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....5&P=1

The only thing I really wanted to see but didn't was the Mix Sixty faux-leather moto in gunmetal, but I don't think my store carried it.

So, there you go. I spent most of the afternoon and ended up with some fun things without completely blowing up my mastercard:)

I picked up two Chantelle bras (duping in different colors), the Halogen speckled skirt (in 2 sizes--will return at least one), and a long rose-gold-colored disc necklace (to get me to free shipping--sigh, Tennessee). Didn't manage to snag the violet pencil skirt in today's post--maybe if the speckled skirt doesn't work out...

Has anyone seen the Vince Camuto bags in the Persian Red IRL? I love how the color looks online (so blue! so lipstick-y!) but I don't really need a bag. But for the right red...well, who knows what I would do. (Also, the ruffle-y one? This one: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/31.....5&P=7 ? The ruched seam running down the middle...I feel like it kind of makes the bag look like those underpants with ruching in the middle of the seat (mimicking, well, a butt). Am I insane? The seam looks less pronounced in the bone color--has anyone seen this IRL?)

I have, Dash. It's KILLER and I'm making it a top pick.

Thanks Lisa and Sarah!

Cathy, how did the Sanctuary shorts fit? They are virtually sold out online and I'm bracing myself for the same in store. If I can order them instead that would be great, but I have no idea what size to get.

I haven't bought or tried anything yet but I haven't been too dazzled by that much online, which is totally fine since I didn't want to buy too many things anyway. I'm going to keep the focus on footwear.

Hi, Babs, and welcome; I'm new too. I guess one measurement of YLF's success on me is that I went to the NAS on the first day, for the first time I think. I did pick up a few things but I'm still pondering on what I'm going to keep. It was pretty busy at midday at our store, but more so in some sections than others.

I tried on some Kut from the Kloth and Not Your Daughter's Jeans but neither was quite right, so I ended up with all tops/sweaters.

gray sequined tank, Halogen - this was also available in cream, black and an unusual tannish rose pink, which would look lovely on olive skin tones, I think. I waffled between the black and the gray but ended up with the gray because I thought I could wear it more, since it didn't read as quite as formal as the black. The sequins are in a houndstooth pattern which is hard to see in the photo.

Open-front cardigan with roll-tab sleeves in a slub knit, I think it's this one but mine is in a bluey-purple which I would call ultraviolet
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/31.....wordsearch

Sandra Ingrish button-front shirt with ruffles in a white/black stripe, this may go back because I'm not sure it's my style and it wasn't a super deal
green basic tank, Halogen
cream v-neck basic top, Halogen

I tried on the corduroy blazer which is a great value and nice fabric, but it didn't fit me quite right.

There were some great jackets, and a few cute coats (although not many given our weather here). The faux-leather coats were cute and seemed high quality for what you were getting. And a bunch of adorable dresses, some in the sheath/retro-inspired area and some more flowery church/wedding dresses. There were tons of cardigans, mostly either boyfriendy or sans closures and drapey. Honestly, I didn't find any super deals, although I didn't venture down into shoes or accessories. Seemed mostly like a loss-leader kind of scene to me.

I just got home from my NAS shopping - first ever. Left home at 6:50AM - got home at 7:30 PM. That was so exciting:
- my car was searched on US border - officer could not believe a woman will go for a day shopping trip alone???
- my credit card was decline on my last purchase - I forgot to call them about shopping in US;
- on my way back on the Canadian border after I paid all taxes they searched my car and compared everything in the bags with the receipts!
How is that for the fun shopping experience!
On the other hand I had fun at NAS, spent much more than I counted for but when I told my husband amount (it was mine and his annual bonus together :-() and showed him the loot he only said that I bought nice things. How is that for a perfect husband and the perfect end of hte stressful day!:-)
Now what I bought:
- Bobeau flowing cardigan in purple;
- deep purple wool coat by Calvin Klein - just fall in love!
- London Fog trench...in purple - can you say what is my favourite color
- Halogen ponte pencil skirt - I wanted purple but size 12 was too big. She brought me grey size 8 and it was perfect so I got it and love it!
- Hinge cropped red jacket - BTW I have seen TONS of XS and XL in the store but had difficulty finding a single M
- UGG flat slouchy suede boots in sand
- UGG warm winter ankle boots in brown
- Me Too Precious flats in pewter
- some underwear and Oroblu microfishnets

I also got some stuff not from NAS: KUT straight black jeans and white clams, CJ straight jeans, BORN flats and thong sandals which are in the YLF store.

Now I will be on the shopping ban until Christmas...

Wow Sveta, that is some adventure you had! Sounds like you made out well though. Please post pics when you get a chance!

Wow - what very cool days everyone has had. Angie I am so glad that you got your tux jacket - I can't wait to see it on you.

I gave in as well and bought some things from NAS. Nothing in the shoe department grabbed me and that's just as well, because other than maybe a pair of booties I'm set on the shoe front. So I stuck to my needs, sweaters and jackets. Here's what I bought, online:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....rchresults

in Parfum, XS (I originally had the the XS P in Cobalt Blue, but that was sold out by the evening)

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....rchresults

in Raisin, XS

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....rchresults

in gunmetal, XS

one Natori bra (nervously, I'm trying 32C with this one...I generally wear 34B but that seems like it's not the right band size)

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....rchresults

in Port, XS (this isn't a NAS item).

What do y'all think?

Sveta, what a haul--can't wait to see it! Isn't the border crazy sometimes? Were they all cold and scary and intimidating to you through it all, too?

I'm starting to wonder if I should just have some things shipped to a parcel receiver in Point Roberts (USA) and borrow my sister's car to go pick it up one day. There are a lot of great pieces in this sale. I probably won't, but I'm thinking about it.

I love this bag in brown--would go so well with my brown Fryes:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/31.....1&P=3

The Karen Kane exposed seam dress:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/31.....9&P=1

The UGG Abilene boots in sand, even though I'm not sure how Vancouver-practical they are:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....5&P=1

These NYDJ capris, which I'd shorten to clam length:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....2&P=1

The Halogen double cloth pencil pants:

Plus the turquoise beads I'm lusting for:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/3088177

I really wanted the sold-out Michael Kors zipper belt, too.

Beth, thanks for the tip about the chain bracelet. It's in my shopping cart, and I can't decide on the color.

So much fun reading about everyone's experiences! Sveta, that was quite an adventure! Babs. welcome! Angie, thank you so much for all the work and helpful tips you have put into this.

Due to some unforeseen complications I wasn't able to shop the online sale till now. Of course, buy this point everything I wanted - the Hinge jacket, MK belt and cowl tunic - is completely sold out. I am going to the store tomorrow and will be checking back often online, but I do not have high hopes.

Looking forward to everyone's photos!

Sveta, I'm so glad you returned home safe and satisfied. I'm impressed with your shopping stamina (hee, it's a crazy energetic feeling, isn't it?). Enjoy your loot!
