In a recent post Synne asked us to consider our motivations when it comes to fashion. https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....-and-style

I answered that I just love the feeling when I am dressed appropriately for the weather, occasion, and location.

Inspired by this, I’ve been trying to pay more attention to how I FEEL in an outfit. Not wearing the party pants that pinch my waist, but choosing something more comfortable, etc.

Here are 2 recent outfits where I “nailed it” in the sense that I felt great. We may not all agree on whether I LOOkED great, that’s a matter of taste! Interestingly both outfits are brownish and black. Appropriate for turkey season!

Fancy outfit; worn for an evening where I knew we would meet friends for casual pizza, walk half an hour through busy Taipei streets in the rain, and then attend a classical music event in a formal concert hall. I knew nobody would actually care what I wore— people wear sweats to the opera these days!— but I wanted to dress up for the music event. So I pulled out my gold joggers, my first purchase from Tibi (old season, deeply discounted); an ancient black sequin top from Zara; and a pair of bejeweled sports sandals for the long rainy walk. Added a speckled black scarf for the A/C.

Next up, I needed to attend a creative-professional meeting on a beautiful sunny morning. Big brown linen top, stretchy paper bag jeans, brown hybrid shoes …sorta cutout cowboy boots??

On both occasions I could move freely, gesticulate wildly, and eat and drink merrily. I was not too hot, not too cold, and felt all around appropriately dressed.
