My Very First "Nordies" Order...

Due to my recent disappointment in shopping in stores here, I decided to "bite the bullet" and shop at Nordies online; and pay the duty - $34 on about $100 of stuff. *sigh*

I hope Nordies is as good as you guys think it is - PS: I didn't realize they had "real" size - and nearly had a heart attack when I found out I was a size 6!

My Goodies :p

Lyn-- I am very happy with nordies this year and you picked some lovely things-- unfortunately, I have a feeling you are going to be disappointed with sizes. I have 40+ inch hips and I take a 6 in the seamed skirt, tailored down-- it actually runs big as I am normally an 8.

I am a bit concerned about the sizing too. I ordered the skirt in another color in a 6 and have a 4 on order now. I normally wear either a 6 or an 8. I love the color though.

I have my Nordie's orders shipped to Pembina. It is free shipping and an hour drive to pick it up. If it is under $100 you usually don't even have to get out of your car at the border. It isn't worth the cost of processing the payment for under $100 per person. If you take a friend you could bring back at least $180 of goods and the cost to have the package received by the service is $5. PM if you would like more info.

Excellent choices, lyn. I really hope they all work out for you. I'll be curious about how the Halogen skirt fits...haven't bought one yet and I'm totally confused about how it fits!

Love your picks! That Halogen seamed skirt is a favorite! I have it in 3 colors! What size do you normally wear? It runs a teesnie bit big, not huge though. I usually wear a 4P and can wear either a 2P or 4P in this skirt.

Oh man, your choices are fun but I am with others who think the sizing will be disappointing. Can you cancel your order and re-evaluate?

I know it's hard to judge from photos but I would think you would be in the smallest sizes the house brand (Halogen or Classiques) makes...the 0 or XS.

Lyn, Sylvie just sent me the measurements of the 2 and 4 skirts, and both of those would be too big for me; I think I am bigger than you! So I am with the others, can you cancel or change the order? I hate to see you charged duty on something you will only have to send back.

I think you made great choices, but am with the others in thinking that a 6 may be large for you. I have a VC chiffon skirt (shorter though) and I took a 2 in it; and all the Halogen tops I've tried I needed the XS and some were still too big. Pretty sure you are my size or smaller :\

Lyn, cute stuff! But I agree, the skirt is going to be too big! I have a red one and wear a size 6 in that skirt and I'm pretty sure I am bigger than you (I forget, are you petite as well?). Normally I would be a 4 but I had to size up for my apple tummy. So I'm pretty sure you'd need a smaller size. What is your usual size?

I normally wear a size 0 to 4 in skirts that are not pencil skirts - I like to wear a flare skirt because my waist is small; and I can get away with a size 00 to 2 (depending from where), but when you have to take legs and stuff into account, I'm usually a size 4-6.

I'm a Calvin Klein 4 or 6.

I think that's the only "universal" brand I wear :p

Oh ... and the GAP; I wear a size S.

My mind is officially blown. Are you model height? I've always thought you were sized like a spunky woodland nymph, but your measurements are actually very close to mine!

I think you probably are safe with most size 6, but some of the gals say the seamed pencil skirt runs large. I am also a Calvin Klein 4. FWIW, I am usually between 26.5 / 36.5 and 27 / 37, and take a 4 or a 6 in most brands. Sometimes my thighs demand the 6 :{ It's just numbers anyway, the important thing is whether it fits and makes you look great!!

Hm Lyn* those are almost exactly my measurements though I'm, like, half a foot shorter and probably have way more behind I still maintain that the 6 will likely be large on you though. I wear 2/4 or XS with the occasional S specifically in the brands listed above. But as you said, this is for waist-height items; if I had to wear lower I also drop into the 4/6 range. Fingers crossed for you that the sizing works out correctly!!

I had a really hard time adjusting when my hips grew after I was about 21.

I don't think I'm particularly big. :p

You're not big at all! You just photograph as very petite. I feel the opposite - I think I photograph as bigger than I really am.

The only way to know is to meet up - come visit!

Echoing what AG said! You are a great size, and lucky to be able dress and photograph smaller than you are. Slumber party at Una's house to compare sizes and try on each other's clothes!
