Ok, ok, you BR defenders sort of win. This is the one piece that I actually wear with any sort of regularity that I've bought from BR in the last year. Oh yes - it's black.
After going at BR a little mercilessly today on Lisa's thread re: the trials and tribulations of Banana Republic, I needed to throw something on really quickly to meet a friend very last-minute for an end-of-the-week-debriefing (aka happy hour) -and this has been my go-to all winter. It's a faux silk t-body , very square in cut, with really nice fully-finished cut-out treatment on the front. Never needs an iron, wears with ease, looks great with jeans and boots (typical going-out look for me) or with black ankle pants for a work event. Bought on sale - as always - at BR on a 40% off day with no thought in mind, but it's worked really well for me. Probably the only piece that has in the past year.
Bright lip means no accessories other than a leather cuff and a diamond eternity band. Worn with distressed released hem jeans and cut-out black boots. Topper - olive TopShop bomber. Happiness factor? 10.
What are your BR successes ? Or better yet - what do you throw on for a last-minute glass of wine with a friend that you know will work, no matter what kind of day you've had?
