Timing is everything and I decided to wear these vintage jodhpurs a few days before Angie’s fun post. I’ve been meaning to post this spur-of-the-moment outfit after reading her blog post and, well, because I had taken a few photos (my YLF WIW gene is still intact, lol). This time, I chose not to wear my brown knee-high riding boots with them as I’d be channeling a true horsewoman and you won’t find me on a horse (well, once, actually on a Tuolumne Meadows backpacking trip). So, I wore some black ankle boots by Naot, the Kona model. Actually, I just ordered the same style in a camel brown which I luckily found at a small, here we go again, equestrian store that has branched out to accommodate local tourists in Point Reyes, and the owner is sending me the last pair. The black boots I am wearing are a bit too severe, and because I didn’t want to wear the knee-high boots, that’s what I had.
I love these corduroy jodhpurs because they are so comfortable. They remind me so much of Angie’s amazing jodhpur jeans. Besides wearing a white shirt, I would wear a fitted navy turtleneck or sweater, also. The cropped shawl cardigan I am wearing is also by Ralph Lauren. Also, I’ve added an animal print belt and a white Mer-Sea short-sleeved sweater. So, that’s my take on it, literally and figuratively.
