Angie has a way of posting what's been lingering in my mind and I love that. For the past two weeks, I'be been thinking about wearing my Banana Republic tweed jacket. After seeing Angie's post, I got it out and wore it with my AT Loft brown print sleeveless blouse and my Talbots Dalton riding pants and nude pumps.

The jacket was refashioned when I had my tailor add contrasting material to the shawl-collar lapels. It's a rather fitted jacket, yet it seems to work fine due to some stretch in the fabric.

Here are a couple of earlier WIW's:

The glorious Zara cape, which was love at first sight when I saw it on Angie, and which I wore to a "Downton Abbey" talk at our local library with black pants, a taupe turtleneck and black tuxedo jacket;

My blue short-sleeved Boden top with blue Talbot's Dalton riding pants and big pearl necklace;

My several-years old Halogen mustard skirt with the blue print H&M blouse (recommended by Marley, because she thought the color would be good on me);

The eyeglasses were merely taken to send to an eyebob representative to help me pick out other styles of reading glasses and they just happened to be in this photo collage.

Hope everyone is enjoying their particular season; our springtime is lovely here.

Simply smashing as usual!

I love that in #1 there is a subtle pattern on the blouse which works well with the colors/texture of the tweed.

You look great in the Angie's twin cape and earth-toned neutrals

Love both the column of ink with dramatic white pearls and the pairing of the yellow skirt with the H&M top (I missed the chance to jump on that, the patterns and colors are so lovely) --good footwear choice too.

We're just now starting to get some bulbs coming up, thanks for the garden preview

Great outfits Vicki! So glad that you posted them. I think my fave of the group is the column of color with the chunky pearls, or is it the mustard skirt paired with "our" H&M top??? Oh, I can't decide!!!! Really love them all!

shevia, thank you and I'm so glad I bought the cape, even though I live in sunny California. It has a lightweight feel that I know I'll enjoy in the autumn, too.

Barbara, I appreciate your comments on the jacket and that idea came to me when I saw a celebrity real estate broker on the show "Million Dollar Listing New York," and saw the contrast he had on his upscale jackets. I thought my jacket was a bit too gray or neutral by my face, so that's why I wanted to add something to the lapel.

Marley, I would NOT have walked in and bought that top, unless you had showed it to me along with explaining the possibilities and why I should buy it. From what you said, more than a few of of us have it, and I'm glad I made the purchase. Keep your eyes open for more that work for "us."

SO fab on you, Vicki! I love the cape on you as much as on Angie. It really is a bit Downton, isn't it? I like the tweed jacket on you as well.

Also, waving to my blouse twin (quadruplet -- LisaP and Janet also have it). I don't think I've ever put on anything as flattering to me so I am sure it must light you up as well. I wear it when I need to look less sleep deprived!
