I am an accessories gal and was inspired by the use of collet necklaces in the McQueen outfits in pics 1 and 2. I’ve been looking for something similar, but it is not easy to find at retail. I sent out the search parties in this post:

I ended up having 2 octagon style necklaces made by an Etsy seller.

I am wearing one of them here. It is made from vintage Swarovski crystal in AB (Aurora Borealis). It’s gorgeous. The crystals have a wonderful play of colour, with flashes of blue, green, pink, purple and white. They look like opals, which appeals to me as an Australian. I also had one made for a friend of mine who is an opal + McQueen fan. She loved it too

For a pendant effect, I layered it with a silver coin necklace. The coin has a faded dog picture on it. I suspect this is a reference to Romulus and Remus and the founding of Rome but, hey, a wolf is a dog to me
