Soooo, the J. Crew cream Roxie boots are all that and more. SOOO comfy and look amazing! They go with almost all my outfits. See pic #1 and Find #1 for WIW to debut them last week. (I might duplicate them in the cream.....)

Oh, for sure. When you find a winner like that in comfortable footwear, and it works as well with your wardrobe as that color does, you should duplicate!

I would say no, rather duplicate in cream. I think we like the same colors and this is the color that I have the biggest issues with. In theory it works with so many other colors but it doesn’t spark joy. I have handbag in this color too and I just don’t wear it, I will probably pass it on.

Sounds like you would have to try it to see if the color is what you would imagine. A question is, are you looking for a "dark neutral" (or nearly-neutral), and is the merlot it, or would you wear ink preferably, or do you have such a long boot season that you crave more variety in color, than having a backup cream pair, as anchie notes.

Anchie and Unfrumped, very good points! Thanks for the thoughts, and I appreciate the care you took to write them - Here are my responding thoughts:

I've had burgundy boots before, and miss them! My burgundy bag comes out to play a lot in the colder weather. It's not orphaned, thankfully.

I don't want navy or black boots. I've have them, and don't miss them one bit.

Cream and white boots will ALWAYS have my heart. They are ESSENTIALS for my style. I have many pairs already!

As long as I wear the burgundy boots in a NON-earthy way - they can work for my style.

Good with my red specs.

The merlot must be more red than brown, so that's important. I will consider the shade and tone very carefully

Big yay from me. I have a pair of vagabond boots, similar shape and color and I wear them all the time. They work as a neutral for me, when I don’t want black… or brown… or buff. They seem to dress up what ever I wear them with!

I was so thinking "no", because the colors that came to mind as harmonious with merlot were earth tones including purple, colors I don't associate with you, and certainly no white.

But now that I see how you actually envision wearing them and your color combinations it's hard to imagine a dark shade that would better?

Why would you not at least try them?

I am a yes, I get a lot of use out of my burgundy complement of bags, ballet flats, loafers and booties. In addition to the listed colors I like them with grey, forest green, and jeans.
