There is so much I love about Ralph Lauren style: the1930s/Gatsby/Downtown Abbey jazz-age aesthetics. The British-y tartans and florals. The yachting/nautical themes. The elegant menswear haberdashery looks for women. The occasional film noir bits. The sweeping western stories. And most of all, I especially love the adventure/safari looks/Indiana Jones aesthetic.
Most of the pieces were thrifted or consigned.
#1 This shorts look was from the Ralph Lauren Spring 2023 collection. My clothes: LOFT denim shorts (thrifted), Target leather belt (thrifted), Lafayette 148 sweater (consignment). The espadrilles and sunnies are from Amazon.
#2 was inspired by the Ralph Lauren Spring 2018 collection. I put together two outfits: J Crew striped knit top, Levi’s Wedgie jeans, LOFT denim shorts, Ralph Lauren polo neck shirt, Target leather belt, Madewell belt, Chico’s beaded necklace, Stuart Weitzman kitten heels, Aigner crossbody, and Amazon espadrilles. Everything is thrifted except the earrings and espadrilles.
I’ve worn several other variations of this outfit, but didn’t get pictures. The striped top and white bottoms are always the basis of the outfit.
#3 was inspired by an overall idea of Ralph Lauren meets Coastal Cowgirl. The outfit on the right is from a style lab I did in a separate post, but I’ve already worn several different iterations, with assorted boots and tees. Left look: Talbots floral skirt, RL Denim and Supply jacket, the Limited knit top, Madewell belts, Frye boots. Right look is a metallic straw cowboy hat, Topshop tee, unbranded leather belt, and Cole Han boots.
#4. More RL Meets Coastal Cowgirl meets Wednesday Addams (the hairstyle): The denim skirt and lace blouse were both Anthropologie brands that I picked up on deep clearance from a consignment store. The top had an annoying ruffle (#5) that I carefully excised, and will eventually use in an upcycle somewhere. Bag is thrifted The Sac. Espadrilles and sunnies are Amazon.
