Angie's outfit formula of layering made me really think about my clothing items in a different way than I usually do:
"Note the types of items that are being layered, their lengths, their proportional mix, and the levels of contrast between them. Note which of the colours are repeated in the outfit, and which are not. Choose any colour palette." Analysing the colours in the outfits resonated with me.
Pictures 1 & 2: I don't think I would have ever paired this gingham shirt with this vest as I think the patterning is too busy, but with the black coat, I think it grounds the "busy-ness." Also, I usually wear different tops or sweaters with these pants. The clothing proportions are different, with the vest not as roomy as the model's sweater. I wore this to the mall.
Pictures 3 & 4: Running errands outfit. It was a warmer day last week, so the shirt and sweater kept me warm, while the lighter coat worked to keep out the wind. I do wear this white shirt with the sweater on top, but I would never had thought to match the coat to the sweater. In spite of this skirt being shiny and silver, it's proving to be a workhorse. (I think I like this outfit better.)
Pictures 5-7: Lots of heavy rain overnight last Thursday, then a slooooow freeeeze. The ice looked like melted wax, which was neat. With the sun, it made the trees look like they were crystal encrusted and gorgeous!
Thanks for looking! Comments and suggestions always welcome.
