Thanks all, I’m more confused than ever right now, but I know I’ll make a better choice once I’ve processed all your info
Liz : so you only wear blazers as outerwear? I would have no occasion to wear blazers that way, what a pity that would be
Brooklyn : I chuckled when I saw your post this morning, we did the Summer version and the Winter version of burgundy the same day
Yes, length is ok for transitional season (I have a longer peacoat and a longer puffer for cold weather)
DizzyLizzy : yes, you’re probably right, the trench is too big in the shoulders.
Chouette22 : I know, I have to cover that neck. Turtlenecks should be ideal but they don’t work for other reasons, so I usually wear collared shirts.
Janet : yes sleeves are too short, thanks for bringing it up. Happens all the time, so I usually fill the gap with longer shirt sleeves. But I think the knit sleeves here are too short to cover the gap successfully. I might try a size up in the top to see if I gain more length that way.
La Pedestrienne : I’m ok with the trench length in front, but yes, it would look better longer in the back, I agree.
Deb & Lisa p : all my jackets are long, but being short waisted I’m supposed to look better in short jackets so wanted to try on this shrunken design. I don’t have a preference, really. I should make a post about long vs short blazer, as experiment. (Had to google Alyson Walsh
troff3 : maybe low contrast work better because the trousers are high waisted (not the best look for my short waist)
JAileen : well, the sleeves feel like they’re meant to look that way, but I don’t like bracelet sleeves, they just look like too short sleeves on me, as you’ve noticed.
Delurked and Mirjana : thank you.
Angie : my styling skills? Lol, I’ll probably wear the blazer only one way, that’s what I usually do The faded jeans are Summer jeans (thin, cropped), just wore them here to experiment with your ice and wine formula. Yes, I think they’re meant to be bracelet sleeves, but on my gorilla arms bracelet sleeves are always a tad higher than bracelets. Here it is on the model : https://fr.weekendmaxmara.com/.....ltramarine
I do tend to wear my outerwear (and knits) too big.
I don’t think I will layer over suit jackets, I like the trench better over jeans, it looks quite casual to me.
Laura G : yes, the epaulettes look big. I like military trenchcoats, but their design is not made for me really : epaulettes, double breasted are not good features on my shape.
