Beautiful! Glad to hear you're keeping the blazer! And I like the trench, particularly worn open, but then it might not be as functional. The color is wonderful for you, though.

Skylurker, you have good memory, I am indeed a necklace fan, and have quite a collection. A turquoise one would look great with your blazer/knit top combo, as would a pendant necklace with a long chain. Also, do you wear pearls?

I'm glad you're keeping the blazer. I love the outfit with the jeans and scarf and booties--super duper fab! And I really like it over the blouse with the light orange tones. I think you could wear it with the wool pants as well as jeans. This corduroy has a velvety look, so it seems less casual than some corduroys.
I also love that shade of olive on you. I never liked olive on me, either, until I got gray hair. Now a cool olive is perhaps my best neutral. It's all in finding the right shades, I've found. I agree that the coat looks a bit big, but I also think you can wear it oversized with panache.

Catseye : thank you, I like the trench too, so much that I overlooked the fit...

JuniperGreen : you know, your comment about the trench worn open, that suddenly reminded me where I must have picked the idea of an oversized trench : Céline Resort - see pic #1.

Dianna : actually, I tried it with all my necklaces (that’s only 4 of them). I think pendants make my neck even longer #2. And delicate necklaces are invisible on me #3. So I think I have to go for bold choker styles...but I worry they would fight with my glasses.

Sharan : thank you for the validation of the cord blazer. I was quite surprised olive worked on me.

I’ve decided to return the trench because I think this design doesn’t work well for oversizing. Thank you all for your input.

I think that's a good decision. Glad you're keeping the blazer, my Blazer Buddy.

Both necklaces look great. I like the delicate one as much as the chunky. It's a look.

Angie : thanks. I’m not into the look of delicate necklaces, then.

Keep and keep. The blazer has a warm quality that makes it different from many of your other clothes. I see that you're returning the trench coat, which I also like, but I respect your discipline!

I'm finding olive newly wearable too, and I agree greying hair seems to be a factor. I've always liked the color and "mood" of olive but thought it emphasized the redness in my complexion which is less noticeable, to me at least, as I get older.

Like Angie, I like both necklaces with the outfit, Skylurker.

The blazer is absolutely stunning on you and I am so glad you are keeping it. It will really work as a neutral yet bring you the joy of a rich colour. Very flattering on you and versatile.

I love the olive trench too but see you are returning, which makes sense if it does not have the fit you wanted. On the subject of length, though, I will say that I happen to have one of a similar length and I have found it amazingly versatile and useful! I didn't know what to expect when it arrived -- would I wear or no? -- but it's a useful coat if you wear pants a lot and even with sheath style dresses.

Dianna : interesting, thanks for your opinion. I thought delicate necklaces didn’t work, now I know they work, I’m just not liking them.

Isabel : olive used to look so drab and draining - like black. But I can wear black and olive now. On the other hand, I don’t like grey anymore.
As for discipline, well, I’m usually very quick to return stuff, but I’m really dithering on this one.

Suz : « work as a neutral yet bring you the joy of rich colour », that’s well put, and that’s the plan, hope it works.
Re the trench : I don’t mind the length, actually I’ve tried on all my outerwear today (because I was suddenly worried I had bought them all too big, lol) and most are no longer than mid-thigh. Also, it looks much shorter in back than front in the pic, but that’s the heavy velvet jacket underneath that causes the ride-up, doesn’t happen with a thinner layer underneath.
Anyway, I think I’ll keep the trench after all, because I really like it. I just don’t want to return it!

I'm so glad you're keeping it! And grey used to be one of my favorite colors for clothes but not so much anymore! How interesting!

I'm glad you're keeping the trench. You look great in it.
