I’m the spirit of adding dressy/dressier items when I find them, I recently grabbed these pearl trimmed Zara leather boots for a song.

Now I have to decide whether to keep them.

Arguments in favour:

• Inexpensive - so low risk way to add interest and dress up casual outfits
• They don’t pinch my feet and there is room to add a small insole for comfort.

Arguments against:

• They’re black
• Maybe too clunky or too punky?

I’ve tried them with a few different bottoms:
1 - With my new coated Frame jeans.
2 and 3 - With the wide leg pinstripe pants. I tried clipping the hem up a bit on one leg to show a possible shorter length.
4 - With jeans. I think a wider straight leg would be better, or a wide leg.
5 - With an old pair of culottes. They’re too floppy for such stompy boots but do let you see the boot quite well.

No makeup or styling here but hopefully you can get a reasonable read on the boots and their potential or lack thereof.

What says the wisdom of the hive? Keep or return? Is there enough potential here to warrant the whopping $30 investment?
