Sorry to keep you waiting for the "boot post"! I've had papers and exams to grade.

So, I would never ever have considered blonde boots before I learned about bookending my hair from Angie. And then I became obsessed with finding some after I saw Inge's outfit from the London get-together. I have a hard time fitting boots, as I'm short and have muscular calves, so I've been ordering and returning taupe/tan boots for several weeks without success. I finally broke down and ordered the Frye Sabrina 14L's in "clay", a color I NEVER would have considered before YLF. So, here they are. Outfit #1 is my homage to Inge's great style! Outfit #2 is just a random dress so you can see how they look with dresses. Outfit #3 shows the difference between me in the clay boot and in a similar style (the Campus) in a "saddle" color (I ordered these too, but I won't keep both). In the abstract, I prefer the saddle, but with my hair, I definitely prefer the clay. What do you think? This is a big step for me!

My other questions:

1) They are very tight around my upper calf, especially the one on my right (your left) - so tight that they don't really give, hence the "slouching" in #4-5 that is not really slouching at all, but just wrinkling caused by the fact that I can't pull the boots up any higher with jeans. If I keep them, should I try to have them stretched? Or do you think they'll give a bit over time?

2) They are pretty edgy/rugged. I'm OK with that, but I worry that they're a bit limited in terms of what I can wear them with. For example, I couldn't wear them with pencil skirts, correct? Can I wear them with any sort of skirt/dress?

These boots have to be 10+ to keep, so I appreciate your thoughts. THANKS!
