WIW: Nude boots try #2

Look #1 got mixed reviews here:

I thought it worked but not everybody did.

Look #2 is what I wore today. I included two very slight tweaks - nude microfishnet tights and a gold chain belt. Did it help?

I love the colors, but I'm not sure if I like the pairing with the light boots because it seems like it's out of place somehow. That could very well just be me, though. The vibrancy of the skirt and top is beautiful.

I DO like the chain belt addition I don't see the difference in the nude boots between the two though :-\

I'm still hoping you'll fold those shirt cuffs back over your jacket sleeves and scrunch them up together. . .I always like that addition of more skin and it might go nicely with the nude boots color. . . ?

Rita, while I struggled a little with the black jacket in your previous post I did think the outfit looked good. I do like the boots here, for some reason the boots (maybe being a heavier shoe with more coverage) seems to balance the whole look. The belt is a nice touch too.

I do think this is quite a spectacular outfit. Its really nicely put together, and is quite striking.

Are you sure you need those boots?? I could find a good home for them

@sara, I meant to say they were nude microfishnet tights - It's going to take some time to get used to them. I'm not too excited about them right at this moment. The sleeves on the Missoni Target blouse are very tight, I can't push them up at all.

Hmmm. The belt is elegant. And a nice addition.

But.

I think it is because with your dark hair and the dark jacket we are unconsciously looking for something to bookend or anchor the look, know what I mean? You can DO this, no question, and your legs really do look long...but I would be curious to compare with a darker boot just to see. That would be a very interesting post. My gut feeling is that you would still get leg- lengthening effects if the darker boot had a heel (like this one) and was knee -high, and it would also ground you.

Which is not to say I don't love the boots. I do!

Oh thanks, I was wondering why the boots looked the same I don't really notice any difference created with the fishnet from a distance though. (I'm pretty hopeless, I guess!)

Do your cuffs unbutton? I just got that same blouse last week (a timely store return!) and wore them unbuttoned and folded/rolled up.

OT: I was surprised by how much I liked the blouse and how nicely it was princess seamed.

Yes, that blouse is very nice, I really like the rows of pink pearl buttons. It's definitely better than normal Target quality.

I like the boots and the gold belt adds a lot of polish (amazing, those details!) I'd like to see the same outfit with a lighter jacket, for bookending, like Suz suggested.

Rita, this outfit worked for me last time and it works for me now. - but i do not think that footwear needs to be bookended all the time anyway! These nude boots look great on you, jacket bookends your hair and echoes the print of the blouse - perfect in my book!
You additions are very subtle and do no make much of a difference on the screen - it may be different in real life - but you cannot go wrong with fishnets and gold chain belt!:-)

Would like to see with no jacket or a lighter colored layer. The boots totally rock with the magenta pink and the belt is a great addition. It's just the jacket that's causing my eyes not to settle.

Rita you look lovely as always! I have to agree with Briar ... can you try another jacket or maybe a sweater or cardi? I don't really subscribe to the bookend theory, but there is something a tiny bit off about this combo. All of the pieces on their own are FAB, but maybe it's the jacket that's out of place and not the boots.
btw ... I agree about the Target Missoni tops being tight. I thought my wrist were getting fat!

I don't think it looks bad at all but i see what the others are saying about the dark blazer with all other light colors + blonde boots. And i love Sarah's suggestion about popping out the shirt cuffs and scrunching up the blazer sleeves.

I see a little bookending with the white in the blouse and the nude boots. Love it, Rita! Just like I loved the first look.

I like your little tweaks and I think this is a great look as is! It would be cute with a lighter jacket also for a different look next time around. I still think a denim jacket for a more casual look would be good too. Oh, the versatility! I like the idea of unbuttoning the cuffs if you can and rolling them up with your jacket. I do that all the time to help make a jacket a little less formal.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these boots! They are SO comfortable!
