Definitely not I. Peplums just aren't my style. It's a really cute trend though, and I find it flattering on many women!

I like peplums and they do fit with the neo-victorian thing I aspire to... however, I have to be careful because they can make my already big butt look huge! I prefer them on my top/jacket rather than as part of the skirt because on a top the peplum usually starts higher up which is more flattering for me. I would love a nice fitted waistcoat or jacket with a peplum (maybe longer in back too).

I don't like the dress-with-peplum look much though - like on MIchelle Williams at the Oscars. I much prefer them on separates.

I like it, it is classic bombshell. not sure how I would work it in to my style. Skirts seem like too much for my work and they definitely don't fit my OTG lifestyle. I would try a jacket if I find the right one. Maybe for my next Russian restaurant party in June.

For many figures, it seems like the peplum would have to hit just right to flatter. I can see it on ITs and slim rectangles to provide curves. . .

Jumping back in to say that I guess I do already wear a peplum-esque look, since I love to layer a shorter, fitted jacket or vest over a longer, flowy top, which creates the same shape as a peplum top. I think it's easier to do the layered thing, though, because the bottom layer can be a softer, flowier fabric so it's less poofy.

I love a nice peplum because it gives the illusion of a curvy backside!

I bought this fantastic L.A.M.B. blazer at the consignment store with a peplum a couple of months ago that features a peplum, before I knew they were going to be stylish!

I also already own a peplum blazer which is almost 4 years old. I really like it and wear every summer. Never thought that it is dated. Is it? It is dark navy and also have small white stripes which are not visible in the picture. And red lining;)

How flared does the peplum part have to be to count? I might already have some things in this style, but I don't know if it is a true peplum. I love the waist definition and structure, but I don't need much poof.

Yes, I could wear one with my body type, I think. As long as it wasn't too voluminous. I'm not sure where it would take me style-wise. They might be a flash in the pan, so I wouldn't buy one in *investment grade* though.

already have a sharp shouldered jacket with a fishtail peplum. came with a high-waisted pencil skirt.. been busting out the suit all over at every meeting i went/will go to until the spring. off hours i wear the jacket with jeans, the skirt with lady blouses tucked. see looks 6-8.

I have always loved peplums because I'm shaped like a cylinder with breasts, and peplums give me the illusion of a more feminine waist-to-hip ratio. Since I can't wear dresses or skirts as often as I'd like, I pair peplum jackets and tops with jeans or trousers, which isn't as bombshell as when worn with a skirt, but still adds some of the feminine flair I feel I often lack.

I'm going to *try* it. I like the look of peplum i'm just honestly not sure how they'll look on me. I've always been self conscious when it comes to my hips so if i feel like they're accentuating them i doubt anything peplum will come home with me...we shall see!

I find peplums only look good on me if the flare is in the cut rather than by way of gathers, or at least the gathers are concentrated in the small of my back rather than at sides or front (like the burberry quilted jacket Una linked to). Otherwise, the attempt to 'curve' my rectangle ends up widening it and adding rotundity to the apple belly!

I do love it on tall, slender figures though...

I have a peplum leather jacket I haven't been wearing much because sometimes if feel a little self conscious about it (the ruffle factor). This is a good reason to pull it out.

ETA:having read the other comments now, I would add that I definitely have hips (although it's balanced by my upper body) and I find I can still wear this style as long as the cut is right. I can see how it would be a nice option for someone who wanted to add a little volume to this area though too.

P.S. whoa, BJ's jacket is so KILLAH! I hadn't seen that before.
